In BC, the wait times for heart surgeries are a whole lot shorter than five years. For example, as of early 2025, 90% of open-heart surgeries are completed within about 5 months, depending on the hospital and surgeon. A five-year wait would be highly unusual.

Regarding Winnipeg parents being advised to seek surgery for their child in Boston, that's not common either
Tell that to my BC cousin Lester!

Canadians explain why they want to become America's 51st state:'

Canadian WC2 posters are in irrational denial about this respectable poll showing that 43% of younger Canadians would prefer to join the USA:

What WC2 posters don't get is this Ipsos poll specified the conditions, "if they were guaranteed citizenship and had their assets converted to US dollars." The contrary poll they cite is irrelevant because the percentage depends on how the question is framed and their poll does not specify the same conditions as the Ipsos poll.

Which is why he has cancelled the carbon tax. Riiight

Carney is smart enough to know that he can count on the ignorance or indifference of the voting public.

Cancelling a tax and moving it somewhere else, in this case to corporate entities, does nothing.

At the end of the day that tax comes back to one group, the tax payer.

For those companies that need to compete, they will need to move their assets out of country.

This means lack of jobs and a depletion of national capacities.

This is nothing but the 'old shell game'.

It is anything but funny that a guy named 'Carney' is trying to pull it off.

I just came across this. It’s concerning but I hope there was a “method to his madness” as the expression goes, of folding those portfolios under larger umbrellas - and isn’t an attempt to neglect these populations. ei. I hope that the work is still being done, and will be done better, - and not that it will get dropped.

Whereas, south of the border it is not being folded into anything else, but is being loudly and blatantly dropped - and speaking of those who are disadvantaged, together as a whole and more specifically as members of different groups, banned from being mentioned by their health agencies.

I don’t know what to think of this. My first thought is “oh no, here we go”. I only hope it’s a positive strategy to not make those prominent program titles, not a harmful one that’s a pretext for spending cuts to those populations. The next thing that worries me is folding disability programs into employment programs. They can’t keep doing that. It’s especially unjust when that’s the only population singled out for track 2 MAiD. Human worth is far more than their employability/ money making utility. Again, I hope it isn’t designed to be “work or die” duress for disabled people. It doesn’t help.

Disability, gender equality advocates slam Carney's elimination of cabinet positions

That poll was before Trudeau announced he was stepping down, and before Trump’s term started.

There is said in old writ (scripture) that corruption (bad thoughts, insanity and wild desires) is among us, well scattered for reason ... the irrational cannot observe such items of concern to the greater good ... those left after the righteous conflict with themselves? It is a deep flaw ... a hole shot deep in the Canon?

Therein the rising sophistication that simply can't be looked into ... closed bull ... they have a dislike of this quality in themselves and cannot open it ... really? They don't wish to share ...

A flaw in the darker part of the as-sets ... unknown materials? Foul matter do fly ...

If the biggest threat facing Canada is American tariffs and Crime Minister Carnage believes that he is the only person who can defend Canada against Donald Trump, why did he go to Europe instead of going down to Washington?
