And they're off...the election thread

My goodness - how we can get off-topic. According to Google Subway, Undergound, Metro, and several others are all terms for the same thing - a light weight rapid transit system that runs by electricity, all or partly under-ground level in urban areas. In either city I would have no trouble understanding if someone said "Let's take the subway," or "Let's take the metro" or even (especially if they had a British accent) "Let'ss take the underground."
Very little underground in some places, I prefer that. By where I have lived as and adult the platform has always been street level. Calgary it's the C-train, when I moved here I called it the E-train and no one knew what I was taking about. Edmonton is a bit unoriginal, they stick to LRT.

You're trying to pass these systems off as being subways ChemGal? You're beyond that.

I wonder what the impact of the Syrian refugee crisis will have on the election? The reaction covered by the CBC sure has made today's sound bites interesting.

If the conservatives win, Canada is over. Just wait till you see the terms of the transpacific trade deal.
If the Liberals win, it will be almost as bad because Trudeau has no political philosophy of any sort, and the Liberal party has been without talent for many years now.
If the NDP wins, it will be limited in what it can do. It has moved close to the centre. The result is a Canada which has not the faintest idea what is happening to it, and an NDP government, in that atmosphere, wouldn't have the backing it needs for the changes we need.

By the way, in North American governments, right wing parties have a record of being the wildest in spending. Left-wing ones are much easier on the pocketbook. That's not a wild guess. There are studies on it.

I'm watching this election with great fear. It looks as though nobody can get a majority. And Trudeau will almost certainly throw his support to Harper. And good-bye Canada. I don't exaggerate.
I don't know, Greame. This poll (yes, I know, it's a poll and polls can be vague and inaccurate) - says that very few Canadians support such an arrangement. It looks, at this point, like it will either be an NDP supported Liberal government, or a Liberal supported NDP government.

By one's moving towards centre they become mediums and thus think about the situation ... as thinking media ... but many people when seeing this don't believe the ley lines of thought ... they just take eM as insignificant daughters of sole here and there ... scattered like intelligence between the points of emotion or the difference between genius and insanity which is a thin or ethereal split (divined comedy)?

Due to bans against cynical or critical thought (laid down by the extensive powers) the lesser powers of wisdom are therefore not allowed to be heard! Good news only folk ... and some bad news is thus buried there as A' sop ... corn bread thoughts? Do you understand a fit of sop ... like that sponge between the ears? People with gunnery skills use this to swab out Canans ... just for good report!

If the Conservative's complete and utter shambles with Veteran's Affairs doesn't cost them some of their base then there aren't enough drowned foreign children in the world to cost the Conservatives any of their base.

Can an institutionalized religion change when you consider that institution stands as an icon of no-change ... thus no plasticity and inability to avoid blind love that is shocking ... by evidence of how much difficulty people have learning anything until the emotional state passes!

At least this theory holds until some ends are required ... and thus the emotions are over ... and above it as aD Lib ... free speech on how to express how this affected you ... Love that is!

@BetteTheRed
As Red Fox did ... you can sort through the junky observations corrupted by passions to see it the wrong way ... thus cheap whine and Ripples in space ... I do think you have an acute nose ...

Question: recently someone told me that while she won't be voting for Harper she doesn't know who to support.
She was considering voting Liberal but it scares her that Trudeau said he would stop income splitting for seniors and she and her husband are seniors.
I told her that I had never heard that except on Cons attack ads.
She said it is part of his campaign promises.
Does anybody know - did Trudeau say he would stop income splitting for seniors?
