Hi RitaTG -----Your Quote ---- It really doesn't matter how you twist and turn unsafe ..... it is churches that are doing such damage to the young vulnerable ones.

You of course can believe what you like that is your choice -----I believe you are doing a disservice to young LGBTQ teens in your way of thinking and that is just my personal view -----upon committing self murder they will have to go before God and give their account for killing themselves not the Church ---God is the Church in my way of thinking ----Humans will never trump God ------we think different is all ---

Hi RitaTG-- I much prefer it when you say the truth, in what your trying to do , well done. You then seem to be saying you want the church to throw out The Word of God and except, something the god of G.L.B.T.-Q will write.I don't believe you will get those who walk with GOD to fall for this.I will say this though the Christian movement is much softer on the gays that other beliefs. Some would kill you. We say except GODS will or not .What you believe or not believe is up to you . I cannot make you do it . I have said this before that the choice is yours. If you don't believe in GODS Word The Bible. You can join many other faiths that don't, or not. Or even start your own. How would you come to Christ if you don't believe His Word even?
Let me state this for the benefit of others airclean .... because I seriously doubt you will get it.
I am NOT advocating for churches to throw out "The Word of God" at all.
What I am advocating for is a fair, informed, deeply researched interpretation and understanding of the scriptures.
There I will charge a majority of the conservative fundamentalist churches with not doing so.
What I DO NOT BELIEVE NOR TRUST is your interpretation and application of scripture.
Your CHOICE ... to treat scripture reverently and fairly ..... or to stick with what is comfortable for you.
There is scripture somewhere about unjust weights and measures....
Your CHOICE .... to consider the progression of knowledge or to ignore it because it contradicts your beliefs.
Your CHOICE .... your choice....
I could ask you how is it possible you came to Christ and are still so judgemental and fixated on a law that has passed away.
I won't bother ....
In short .... it is not the scriptures that I do not believe .... it is you and your interpretations of scripture that I do not believe.

Another one with the "choice" thing......
As for the act of suicide ...especially under such condemnation ...... I wonder how the smug self righteous ones with their interpretations and judgments will fare out when it is time to answer for driving the young ones to suicide.
Seems to me there is something about teachers, millstones, and young ones.....
Your CHOICE ....... (general comment towards the conservative fundamentalist church leaders)
....
Actually .... I find that "self murder" comment very judgmental and disturbing...
I would suggest that you do some research into the mindset of a person driven to such and act of violence against themselves. There is much you need to understand

An 18 year old in the church has sex with a 16 year old.
A married pastor of the church has sex with the music director who is not his spouse.
The youth pastor gets caught with child porn on his computer.

If one of these people kill themselves, is it really the church's fault?

What?????? .... (n) ..... seriously ..... what?????????
Please ..... be serious .......
This is exactly the outlandish extreme equating that tells us (LGBTQ persons) that you have no interest in being fair, mature, understanding, and loving....
This is a great example of the kind of thinking and talk in a church that pushes a young person closer to the edge....
Disgusting comparisons ...... disgusting and hurtful.... very hurtful.....

Hi RitaTG--What you posted back is not hardly what I was hoping you would post back. I am not going to go through GODS Word and start throwing passages at you left and right. I will just say I hope you have a good day.airclean33

The church exists to bring people to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Although I don't know this for a fact, I suspect that EVERY person in my church has some sexual sin in their past that would be considered comparable to one of the sins I just made up. Yet they all sit there in the knowledge that if they repent and turn to Jesus they will be saved from the wrath of God.

If a person or group want to set up the false paradigm that if you identify as L,G,B,T, or Q you are as sinless as Jesus himself and have no need of salvation because you've got it covered - They are the ones killing them, but not just for this life but for eternity.

The lost will only ever find life in Jesus. Not in a secular club. I would think someone contemplating suicide is lost. My church is open to L,G,B,T,Q, and the 3 sinners I made up above. They will all get love and counselling in line with a biblical worldview. No favouritism. We all start out lost.

Let me be clear Pontifex ..... there has never been anything put forward to suggest that LGBTQ persons are somehow sinless in the general sense.
Now let me ask you to be clear ......
Do you regard simply being LGBTQ to be a sin? ... and more specifically a sexual sin?
Please be direct and come out and say so please.
If the answer is conditional then please state the conditions that make it sin in your eyes.
Thank you ..... I look forward to a direct response....

RitaTG, I agree, I've never heard you advocate getting rid of God's Word. At the same time, I would say - God's law has not passed away. Rather, it has been fulfilled in Christ.

I'd like to acknowledge all the bible, using Ephesians 2 as a lens. Particularly Eph 2:1-10. I can imagine reading that aloud in a big stadium among brothers and sisters and all of us doing the wave and rejoicing.

Let me know why you think Eph 2:14 isn't about Gentiles being brought into God's covenant with his chosen.

Okay, but later. I'm about ready to go for a nap.

Do the un secure and white-washed (clear-doubt) know the truth if the truth is hidden in a fabric?

This ID be the weaving of a myth ...

Wasn't there something about us being dead to the law?
And something about an old covenant and new covenant?
Hmmm ... seems there is a lot there....

Still waiting for you to answer my questions and then we can deal with this :)
Thanks

I know some may say Jesus didn't teach of sex etc, I think he did.

I also consider if the audience of the time would consider such things as fraud as being a theft , or incest , orgies as a sexual immorality , even if he didn't go through each angle one by one.

personally , I think the thread is really just a trashing of those who don't approve of certain sexual relations.

16 “Are you still so dull?” Jesus asked them. 17 “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? 18 But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. 20 These are what defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.”(from Matthew 15)
