Alberta Election

Yep. I'm predicting a PC minority, NDP coming in 2nd, WR in 3rd. Liberals not going to do well at all. Green & Alberta Party might get a few, not many.

Notley has been unofficially declared reelected.

Will Alberta go NDP?

Is this bad news for Harper?

What about the Liberals? Does this make Mulcair the only leader of the only national party in Canadian history to appeal to French Quebec and Alberta at the same time, and thus the only alternative to Harper?

It's too early to predict, but so far the NDP is leading in a majority of seats

I'm predicting my riding will go NDP. There were issues with the previous MLA. The current PC candidate doesn't live in the area, he advertised greatly to the few neighbourhoods in a specific area of the city that are in my riding whereas the surrounding ones have a riding named after the area - while ignoring the rest of us. People are REALLY fed up with schools in the newer neighbourhoods. I think it will still be fairly close though, there's still a fair bit of PC support here.

As I stated elsewhere, I didn't vote for any party. My ballot was a write in, I wrote in the candidate, not the party. I used to live in Notley's riding - I wasn't all that impressed with info from her as a candidate that time around.

One thing about Albertans is, when they want something done, they are enthusiastic, organized, and they get 'er done. We BCers are more non-chalant...unfortunately.

When I made the predictions, I hadn't seen much other than Edmonton-Strathcona. Nothing for my riding was up. Now the order is NDP, PC, WR, Lib. Strong lead with some early results.

The PC are doing better than I predicted and are leading in a respectable 15 seats tied with WR

If the NDP gets a majority, they are going to be against a fair amount of scrutiny. There are the left-wingers who have always typically been left wing. There are those who came from elsewhere.
The support for the NDP party isn't as great as what some of you may believe - it's a case of picking the least of poor options for many.

There is also a fair amount of fear in some circles if the NDP gets a majority.

It's unwarranted fear of the "socialist" boogeyman.
