My sister keeps bragging about just getting rain in St. Catharines...lucky them!Shovel, shovel, shovel. It just keeps coming. 4 or more inches yesterday, then the plow drift this morning. The skiers and kids are happy, those of us still doing their driveways the old-fashioned way less so. Supposed to warm up but that just means rain turning it all into a sloppy mess that will then freeze.
They say we Canucks talk a lot about the weather but, dang it, a Fall like this gives you so much to talk about.
When I lived in Hamilton we referred to the area from roughly Winona eastward as the "banana belt" because it tended to get warmer once you got to that end of Wentworth Region and into Niagara. My sister keeps bragging about just getting rain in St. Catharines...lucky them!

She loves it there. When she first moved there .I remember calling the area the " rust belt" because of GM closing and related industries, but that was about 30 some years ago......she was not impressed.Might be the first recorded instance of someone bragging about living in St. Catherines.
