Like what, PG-13? What do you believe in that I do as well?

I can't think of anything offhand.

Really, airclean, it's not too bad at all. I'd have a pretty frigging immoral theology if I took the entire Bible at face value, and it would depress me so much I'd probably commit suicide. I mean, just yuck.

Jesus said:
For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

That's the thing. He doesn't consider you to be a Christian. Thay means he gets to decide what Christians believe, because anyone who believes differently, is suddenly on the outside of his Christian Venn diagram, looking in.

Yes, but he's not allowed to say that, in that, a large portion of Christianity considers me to be so. I'm not outside the club, even if PG-13 might wish me there.

My interpretations of all things Christian may differ completely from his, but we both exist within the same framework. Every belief of mine can be defended by a Christian scholar, even if they're not the ones PG-13 LIKES.

I'm not disagreeing with you. Just pointing out the alternate reality Pg13 wishes was so.

Actually I don't. Jesus does.

It's like following a recipe.
If Jesus said Here's how I make pancakes
2 cups flour
tsp baking soda
1 cup milk
etc...

If you say, I make Jesus' pancakes, and they have no flour,
sorry, they are not Jesus pancakes.

It is very easy to test. The recipe does not change.

It's possible that PG13 considers a large portion of Christianity to be not Christian.

-Neo alI I have said to you comes from Him. He is not a dead lifeless Universe as some may believe He is a Living being much as we are. GOD though is much more ,as we will be one day. Take my word , we I believe did not start life on this earth. But if you would know GOD , then take note of all living around you . For He is a part of it. He is Life. All living life has a reason for living . With in that is the plan of GOD. We I believe are at the top of that plan. May GOD help you to see and here ,that what you seek.
AC you need to read posts and not run down alleyways of misunderstanding. I made no mention of a "dead lifeless Universe". And you bolded the words "May GOD help you to see and here ,that what you seek". Does this mean that I should stop searching for the truth "within", as we were talking about?

Reading the Bible to the dead letter and without wisdom creates seperation and even schisms within religions. There is a sliver lining of truth, however, and it runs "in and behind" all these stories (of the Bible) and of the scriptures and the stories of other religions of the world too.

The story of the Garden of Eden, for instance, is a story that's been retold and reinterpreted in many ways. But it needs to be read symbolically to understand the wisdom between the words. Doctrines such as the "original" or "ancestral" sin comes from reading such stories at face value only, i.e. literally and without the wisdom behind the story. The Garden of Eden, I believe, is a story about the Soul of Humanity and it's appearance as "The Thinker" in the 4th kingdom of nature.

wow, now it all makes sense..

All I'm saying is that the refrain about how these beliefs aren't proper interpretations, is a mute point because they just are interpretations. This is a problem for Christianity, and one that Christianity is reluctant to deal with. It's not that I have anything in common with unsafe and ac33, it's that I don't pretend, to my supposed benefit, that they don't represent a significant percentage of Christianity.

Fortunately history has proven that over time, evil cannot sustain itself.

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
