comments from Corner Brook

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

If I were, I would have had sufficient evidence to put you away for life years ago.

No, I just better understand what you can get away with saying. And that's saying something. For example, commenting that the UCCan are bound to have some "flamers" in their midst isn't funny - it's just bad form and it's the sort of thing that gets you into trouble.
Thank you ex-administrator chansen. It's good to know I can depend on you for guidance.

And this current administrator would like to suggest you two start your own thread or move it to a conversation. This thread is supposed to be for commentary from the GC42 delegation and those wishing to discuss their experiences with them.

I have been keeping my eye out for all of you and the fish.

What is your table number, Carolla and Birthstone?

I'm enjoying hearing Carolla's and Busygirl's experiences. I also hope to hear from Birthstone and Rev.John and any others there - different perspectives. I'll be checking in often this week.

I was watching some of "Commons 2' this afternoon, and there was no chat to read whatsoever.

Did anyone else notice there was no chat with the livestream? (Or is it just me and my lack of computer skills?)

@Go I can't get chat either. They said sign up on Google. I don't know how to do that either.

It was a long and busy day today ... followed by a gorgeous sunset when we finally left the building this evening to walk back to residence. We paused to take that in.

Birthstone is seated right in front of the band! I"m over on the other side of the stage, near the front also. Revjohn is just behind me; and Busy daughter is also nearby :-) We saw her after supper tonight & she's chomping at the bit "to get going" with the business! That will come tomorrow. Today was a great worship service, receiving reports, a few procedural & consent motions. Tonight there was a terrific play by London Conference celebrating the 90 years of UCC history - it was excellent.

I did find our fish today & will post a photo I took when I have time - which is not tonight. We've been giving out some cards for WC2 & have met some folks who were 'old' posters, but had dropped away - perhaps their voices will return.

We have a fabulous band & vocalists - music has been inspiring.

On a personal note - my eyes are bugging me! I think the ragweed is in bloom, along with lots of other wildflowers. So I hiked off to the pharmacy at lunch for eye drops ... that feels a little better!

What kind of swinging wild action is going on in the room parties?

Pr. jae, please refrain from posting here, unless it is relevant to the topic. Not in the mood for you and your games.

Interesting response Pinga. Are there not room parties at UCCanada conferences? I would think such events are certainly on-topic.

Room Parties; ....
Would these be equivalent to freed chambers or com-part-a'-mental humus ? Just beyond stasis in belief ... ie fixed?

Consider Skye as a symbol of something beyond to get hooked on as immense ... a curios thing for ethereal thoughts as incarnation of spatial travel?

If you had just asked the question, there would be less of a problem. It's the image you posted that is an issue. If you think the UCCan's event is a "yawn" then just get out of the thread. For some people here, this is important and they deserve better than a contemptuous image post. If you meant it to be "funny" then it is another one of your misplaced, poorly thought-out attempts at humour and I'll happily delete it for you.

Levity doesn't bother me, but I do think that from the op this was to be a serious thread intended for those in the WC2 community who happen to be attending General Council to post their reflections on what's going on in Corner Brook, so that those of us who aren't there can get a feel for it and can learn some of what's happening, and perhaps engage with them. Maybe in just this one case, levity should be left out and this thread should be left as a serious thread for discussion about events at a General Council that is very serious business and has huge implications for all those of us in the UCC.
