Yes by my own definition of 'whore' I have demonstrated that I am not one to be throwing stones ... and throwing stones is not my intention. However, if we are going to draw on that parable(?)... did Jesus not admonish the behavior in question as 'sin' not to be repeated? I deliberately do not use the words 'whore' or 'sin' in a sexual or gender context ... Again, my quarrel here is not with transgenderism or RitaTG's courageous defense of the oppressed ... what I do take exception to is ... applause for the exploitation of Bruce and Caitlyn Jenner through mass media ... I do not foresee any good coming from it ... that is all ... I leave this thread with energy renewed towards freedom from exploitation for one and all ... carry on being awesome @RitaTG !

Is it a celebration of her, as some say; a mockery of her as other say; or something else?

The mockery is quite evident. That is the message ... there is no celebration here....
For me Halloween is perhaps the most depressing and challenging day of the year for me.
What I wear is not a costume ..... I am not a character.....
You see ... in daily life I have to put on a mask in order to take one off....
To have this sort of stereotype so flagrantly on display is agonizing for me personally....
I limit my public exposure on that day .....
Now on the other hand ...... Halloween is often called the "crossdresser's holiday".
This is the one day a year that a crossdresser can venture out into public and it's ok....
Isn't that sad? ...... one day a year .... and the person has to treat it like a costume.
This is so very hard and damaging on the person's heart and identity......
And now we have a costume to drive home the point that the very person they have been watching in the news and hoping would help make things ok is just another joke....
I weep .........

What I was thinking about the costume - it isn't celebrating her, it's just using her to make profit. Yes, though, I see the mockery.
 
Profit ... yes Jae .... profit....
I may not like it .... indeed I loathe it.... but I will stand up for their right to do it.
Just because there is a right to do something does not mean doing it is right.
It is not just what... it is where, how, when, and why too...
And yes that applies to everything including LGBTQ issues.
Getting it right ...... I work very very hard at that.....

The majority it seems will mistreat minority people groups in a variety of ways - one of which is making sport of them. Witness the old minstrel shows. The message is - at best, you're not to be taken seriously.

Not all that different in the brite ish community in which Celts were drawn, quartered and disembowelled for the amusement of brute crowds .. sadistic behaviour appears to be the norm here ... so why shouldn't the soul respond from deep into what isn't known ... the human psyche? Life goes on as we are thrilled by bad nous to others but not to the central self ... ego centre for those unaware of those in the beyond ...?

Unless it's a prom, no one gives a hoot if a woman dresses as a man. Nor do they consider it a costume. It is in mimicking a WOMAN that one gets in difficulty. What if a man didn't know?

This is what we are in danger of.....
I have a good friend locally that almost got herself in big trouble this way.
Personally I find it no laughing matter and I am in no way suggesting you thought it was.
