Questioning. Realizing how important it is to question beliefs and why one holds them, today. It’s more political than people realize - and how they can pull people in a harmful direction and co-opt their values in harmful ways. Some belief systems might say that utilitarianism is a moral good because it gets rid of scourges caused by particular “inferior” humans. Others say that getting beyond utilitarianism is the higher moral good (and even to leave room to forgive the utilitarians at some point if they’re targeting you or your group - but speak up about that behaviour). I think so. Guard your heart and mind as best you can without being cold (or too hotheaded) today. It’s not getting easier, though.
