So I called the Urgent Care centre in town. There was already a waitlist. She took down my concerns and said the waitlist is addressed by need, not first come first serve. I told her I could get there at relatively short notice. She suggested I call the other clinic. It is supposed to open at 9 on holidays. I called at 9:01 then a couple of times later. I got the "if you're getting this message during business hours we've reached capacity". Frustrating. I suspect they're actually closed today.

And from the gift that keeps on giving category, my hair is falling out again. Good thing I have hats.
 
Aww...@Northwind. You've faced enough trials lately. Hope things start looking up soon. We had our Thanksgiving yester. Daughter's husband caught hand, foot and mouth disease from their son. My daughter didn't want to bring it to the rest of us in case she is in the contagious stage of it. But she and the boys went on a great hike with us before dinner. They just didn't come in and eat with us. We had so much fun together...my three kids, and 5 of the 6 grands (one was napping). It was the most perfect fall day and it has become a near-perfect memory.
 
In other news, I'm converting an old firewood shelter to a full blown shed. Put a mediocre concrete floor down three years or so ago. Now that im about to frame it in, I notice the corner posts are way out of plumb. Complete pain. Trying to ratchet strap them to near plumb at least. If I die today, it will be because a strap snapped and killed me.

Anyhow, I am home and rather happy to be. Travel is becoming less fun with age, esp. the getting there, around, and back parts. At least the final third was a cruise so we weren't changing room every night like we were on the land tour portion. So I am back, probably for a while. Work could be fun. My dev manager and boss were supposed to be finalizing some things around a big project that I will ultimately be project manager for. As long as things haven't gone off the rails. Oh, and my new phone should be in. We are changing provider and I am due for a replacement anyhow so we'll replace it as part of the switch.

Snappy things appear to make the world go round or otherwise turn ... thus we return to where we was! Generally unnoted by the gross powers!
 
Good Monday morning! Happy Thanksgiving day! Airplanes and churches, coughs and throats sore nd runny noses, I do hope the symptoms get finished soon. May the loss of hair cease as well. Converting a firewood shelter into a shed, with its challenges to be solved. These and other topics will meet us at the Coffee Cart for our usual chat, support, and connections sessions. This morning the Wonderbakery has provided us with pies; pumpkin, apple, and pecan, to enjoy with our tea and coffee. The tea water is ready, the coffee has finished brewing, and the pies are delightfully warm. All is ready, everybody welcome. Come join the fun!

I am not really enjoying these days off- the cat has hyperthyroidism and was on special food- which worked for her bloodwork, but she didn’t enjoy life and was barely eating and loosing weight. So I decided to switch her to medication and give her back her MacDonalds for cats(Friskies). That worked well for 2.5 weeks and now she started to vomit last Thursday, got worse since Saturday, basically didn’t keep anything in and spitting bile all night, alternating with snuggling in my face asking for food I didn’t get much uninterrupted sleep….
Looks like she kept the spoonful of breakfast in, but I might just find it later on where I haven’t looked yet….
She does not want to get back to eating the special food….even if she’s starving..
 
I didn't get to see the doctor yesterday. I'm going to try again today. I still had a fever yesterday and have yet to check it today. I have to get bloodwork done at the hospital today. While I'm out, I'll stop at the barber to get my remaining hair shaved off. It isn't just thinning. This is the third time of lost my hair.

I hope everyone else in the sick room is feeling better.

I that anyone who celebrated yesterday or Saturday had great meals and great times with loved ones.

I enjoyed church from the comfort of my recliner.
 
Wishing for you to feel better SOON. Northwind. It must be disappointing to be losing your hair again. Not sure that I could handle that gracefully.

I've decided not to be attached to my hair. There's no point probably. It may come back. There will always be a risk it will go.

I got an appointment at urgent care today
 
We woke to a white world this morning. Heavy, wet snow is bowing the trees down and making travel hazardous. Our oldest kid has cancelled the family Thanksgiving dinner. A new date will follow I'm sure. Probably a bit of a challenge when trying to include four adult kids and partners. Some do shift work too which will complicate matters.
 
Thinking about those who have health issues this Thanksgiving. Can't really offer prayers with a straight face.

On my part, did not get a broken ratchet strap to the face, so that was nice. Will finish up the shed later.

The health of a cat, the losing of hair, Dr.'s appointment, for ratchet straps that cooperated, and other things that will arise today, including creative meals from Thanksgiving leftovers; it all comes to the Coffee Cart with us, for conversation, support and connection, over tea, coffee and fruit turnovers from the bakery. The tea water is boiling, coffee is freshbrewed, and the turnovers are warm abd flaky. All is ready, all are welcome. Come join in!

Sounds very chancy like quantum even at folly ... that's night I'm ... when one reads into the shadow ... a plunge?

Many have been conditioned to avoid such ... critical in the leaning curve when "it is said" to teach my children ... what should they learn? Furthermore what's IT? Powers say don't ask ... it is embarrassing ... the stuff we don't know! Quite ab -ite!
