It was October so I was probably wearing a sweatshirt. A tshirt would have had more effect. Maybe showing him my scars. It could happen.

Not as awful a situation but I have a similar story.

In the early 90's I was downsized from management position at a hospital. A short while later, I received a phone call from the hospital's foundation office requesting a donation.

I lived in the catchment area, you see, so I was fair game as a local resident. Big ICK it was for me.

Same hospital, different story.

A couple of weeks after my layoff, I got a phone call from someone at the hospital who had a concern about something in one of my areas of responsibility.

So I said, I'm sorry but I no longer work there. Wow! Talk about embarrassing for the caller. I ended up reassuring her it was okay. I was able to redirect her to who she needed to contact.

Sorta related. My former boss sent me my 15 year pin in the mail because I had reached that milestone during my last year at the hospital. That was a "WTF???" moment.

Actually I worked there for more than 15 years. But maternity leaves were deducted from employees' accumulated service. Always seemed petty to me

And oh yes. All the managers who were downsized got invited to the next year's management Christmas luncheon. I declined to go.

Oh, yes, October is OT month. My boss, an OT herself, took pictures for the newsletter and wanted me to write something what being an OT means to me- I had to calculate- it’s been 33 years! I was always shocked to hear when someone had been on the job for over 30 years- I guess that’s just a side effect of getting old…

My cat has been having hyper thyroidism for about six months- and since she really sucks at taking pills, I had decided to go with regulating it with her diet. It did work- her bloodwork was normal, but she hated the food and lost weight…
So I finally decided to try the pills. Ingot it compounded in a tuna flavoured gummy. Took her four days to figure out that it was different from the tuna temptations I fed her at the same time. Now we are mixing it into her MacDonald-for-cats wet food (Friskies). So far so good. She is back to actually enjoying eating again and has regained her weight within a week.
She was actually pawing me like this when was preparing her “ healthy food”, but with her ears back and huge big eyes, looking like a really poor kitty. That changed my mind.

That's right @Mrs.Anteater. Thanks for reminding me it's OT month.

Retired OT here. Not a bad career at all but I don't know if I would make that choice again. Moot point, really.

Might as well plug in the coffee while I'm here.

Old Testament Month ... isn't this wrong thread for such lines? Should there be eliminations for such elaborations? Then one could claim delinquency because they didn't have at it!

At a store today I was asked if I would like to donate to Holland Bloorview Children's Hospital?

I pointed out my son went there for some time, and agreed to donate.

The immediate response was, "I'm glad he's feeling better!"

"Sure," was my reply. No need to get into it.

But they would not stop. Both of them were so happy my son was doing better now, which is something I never said or inferred.

I didn't embarrass them or anything. I just ducked the comments and walked out. I'm not mad, just amazed how people are willing to spout off like that based on limited information.

Unabated intelligence without cares is generally un inhibited ... it just happens with brute force forward and they plunge.

Sometimes a bias toward backing off the urges is half worth it ... thus demiurge ... or what the one-way folk call 666!

That's 12 with half a batch of clues ... they will fight over the incidence ...

When one appreciates word and its fluidity you can work with it ... iconic literacy is not literal so do not take it as perfect! It is Hoom Anne ... and bound to alter ... like bushes in the bottom of a vale ...

Occupational Therapy month, Luce. We ‘ve had at least three OTs here on WC.

You too mist an unknown point ... very literal eh! There are so many things to include in life and so many eliminations by power ... by self I knuckle and go down at powers whims ... thus understudy on partisans ...

Everything to be looked at and prodded ... it is biblical ... some deny it an ask nothing ... go figure!

I had a discussion with a minister last night about inflexible laws and loss in the church because of immovability of stone walling that is built from both sides whence ones starts it ... once again now ... OT damned spot ... and Luce goes as shoved ote ... repeat! Thus odes ... someone is always owed something because of the onus some take as hubris ... about knowing all ... and we don't ...

It is amazing what we don't know and how to play eit ...

Good morning! Awkward asks for donations, medicating a sick cat, invitations to Christmas luncheons, which would be uncomfortable, and a happy OT month to those who mark it. The Coffee Cart is open to discussions on these and any other topics of general interest. The tea water is boiling, the coffee is freshbrewed, and the bakery has provided doughnut holes for our enjoyment. All is ready, all are welcome! Come in and join the conversations!

October is such a great month. I loved it as a kid because of three important days: Thanksgiving, my birthday and Halloween!

Plus the weather can be lovely and the fall colours are still beautiful.

OT month, too, of course.
Plus Sober October for those so inclined.

Maybe O 'tve T heh J obis missed by those wishing downsizing and one is outed from the human resource system by those up there looking for something to decommission ... thus something has to go.

A delivery man was telling me recently that he was listening to the radio while driving and those speaking were talking about companies with 3% PM's and searching for a means of raising the PM ... through getting rid of value ... thus the Peter Prin. an Pede being a basis in the biblical context! It even led to flying arches ... winged fete? If written-down people believe anything ... even if it cuts out virtue and value.

It is said that for every job cut there are an additional 6 lost totalling 7 ... a magi #! Thus the whittling of HR ... and thought does go as it is costly and demanding ... ir must be reduced to accommodate wants, desires and will that will overrun the budget ... because Pete still must be paid because he is up to something of a cutting nature.

Thus humanity is carved out ... creating an abstract dwelling place ... deficient on something or alternate! Alter growing in the veil ... what we are up against! Few can deal with Reuben ... as the subject of humanity is abrasive as we believe it is every one for himself and thus autonomous until facing the obvious ... we're always lacking and wrong about Hoo Breeze and hubris ... winds of time ...

The Advocate in NB says we have a irresolvable problem as the populace fails while putting all resources into private business that demands large commissions ... and we do not understand the consequence of the bold dare ... involving the chucking of good sense! Vernacularly confused ... is common as holistic departure ...

One must join body and psyche (mind you) to make communications work. Alas always over run ... drips and dipping's ... devising ways of running off with ... what cannot be spoken of ... powers cannot be identified, even if they wish the spotlight ... some shadow appears!

Maybe the abandoned Mother myth ... this is AD continuum ...

Ultimate goings on ... like word ... it never ends because we don't see any ... it is behind us ... unless you are a time traveller and can look all about ...

Put that down ... write it!

Is there room for this in a spatial psyche:

(This will undouble lye be difficult for the piously wanting to swallow as hard wanting has not room for love of knowledge that is alien to "M" like a lesser Jesus that one up there ... diabolical? I'd say ...)

"You cannot be intelligent merely by choosing your opinions. The intelligent man is not the man who holds such-and-such views but the man who has sound reasons for what he believes and yet does not believe it dogmatically."
— Bertrand Russell
True intellect isn’t about what you think—but how. Russell elevates reasoning over conclusions, humility over certainty. Wisdom lives in the questions, not the answers. --- B Russell a person of foresight in looking at what comes round!

Expect a turning point! It may be a mire post or stem ... thus epi stem o' logical reasons ... stuff never considered or contemplated as you may have been taught not to think as it has its own inhibitions ... parenting enigma?

A gross time of pondering and reckoning arises ... as we are faced with enemies of HR ... a bad resource to them up there ... so base!

Are things beneath us base and thus out of reach? Implications ... bat's height uppers?...

Had my appointment with cardiologist. First time that I had met him; though, I had met with staff.
I appreciated his approach including seeing if can get off of meds that I was put on. See him again in 6 months.

Good news is, my heart is in relatively good shape.
Gotta love that he kept saying "you're young". Bwahaha, it's all relative.

That's excellent news Jayne.

I'm having another wobbly day. Yay for my comfy recliner.

Yesterday I learned I've been accepted into a program that's run out of Vancouver. It involves genetic testing to determine the best treatment for me. It's kind of cool. I should be hearing more soon.
