When the most interesting thing in your family tree is a Welsh circuit rider

My father's line came to Canada (Ontario) in the 1700's as Loyalists. They were Free Methodists. Apparently some were involved in church planting, including one where Canada’s Wonderland now stands. I suspect there were temperance riders among them. And drinkers. :)

Dad's maternal line were loyalists (so his mother's mother's ancestors). Originally settled somewhere in New England (Massachusetts rings a bell), then moved to Nova Scotia during or just after the American Revolution, then moved West to Ontario at some point after the War of 1812 but forget exactly when. One of them served in the Nova Scotia Coast Guard during the 1812-14 war so I know it was after that.

Good morning! A trip to the shore property, a troubled night's sleep, an family secrets and scandals aplenty! I would guess that almost all families could come up with such skeletons in the closet. Gives us a lot to chat about! These and many other topics come with us, as we gather for chat, support, and connection, round the Coffee Cart, over tea, coffee, and angel food cake with seven minute frosting. The cake is fresh and warm from the bakery, tea water is ready for use, and coffee is freshbrewed. All is ready, all are welcome. Come in, have some refreshments, and join in the conversations!

My late husband's grandmother was married to two men and had two children. Neither child was the child of the husband to whom she was married.

It appears to happen more often than not with consequence about ... what child matters? Lord are we stupid with avarice?

Red said: "Gives us a lot to chat about!" such is a truism ... and most don't want to ... for alien reason! The reason of life?

We'd rather destroy ... it is observable function in a militant world over value ... wealth ... fools gold? In the dash no time to ponder ...

Confession time: never met a laundering machine I couldn't figure out, but I am bizarrely terrified of automatic car washes. Went through one once, decades ago, and thought the panic attack would kill me.

I once wrecked a transmission due to a miscommunication.

Never have i entered one that pulls you through again.

I love the ones you drive into though. For some reason doesn't bother me claustrophobia

I'm really tempted to look into the washer/dryer units we're plumbed for one. It would be so nice not to have to haul stuff to the laundromat. I know the all in one units take a long time to dry. We have a drying rack so could really hang to dry

We had a nice lunch with my aunt and uncle, two cousins and spouses today. It's always nice to have these gatherings. My cousins are 14 and 18 years younger than I am because my uncle was born when my father was 15. I'm enjoying being geographically closer to them. The food was great too at one of our favourite pubs.

I am bizarrely terrified of automatic car washes.

I used to take my car through the wash in Alberta when we were there. Hubby's son was living with us at the time and it was a great little time out. It was a way for me to collect myself and sort of meditate.

Good morning! Laundry equipment, car washes, and claustrophobia (oh my!!!) seem to be the themes fo yesterday. Conquering fear of washers and dryers, and surviving panic attacks, provide some good stories to share around the Coffee Cart. As we come together again, these and other events and thoughts will come with us, for conversation, support, and camaraderie. This happens over cups of tea and mugs of coffee, and macaroons, warm from the Wonderbakery. The tea water is boiling, the coffee freshbrewed, and macaroons soft and warm. All is ready, all are welcome! Come on in and join in!

I can offer a few bananas if you don't mind them on the ripe side. We bought too many this week.

Or I could bake some virtual banana bread, I suppose.

Thanks Redbaron and Paradox3.

I've been working on cleaning up outstanding tasks. Today I've got an appointment to kill some old bank accounts. I had USD accounts as was paid in usd when was consulting there. I traded them when exchange was great and have been carrying them paying service fees. Time to shut them down as don't plan on consulting there again. Also, when I had a potential fraud situation, i created new accounts, but the one account i noticed was still open registering service fee, so shutting it down. Will feel good to close them and also reduce time in reconciles

Been unsubscribing emails from businesses as well. Crazy how they accumulate.

Today I'll be doing some preparing for our move to our winter park tomorrow. We've liked this park. We're ready to head back now.

I'm tasting freedom today. I'm not needed for babysitting (other grandma is doing it) and my sister is seeing mom tonight. Sometimes I go with her, but I think I'll take a real day off. So...plan to mow the lawn, make a chicken stew and work on a church service. I may even wash the car if the spirit moves me. And I think I'll cook up some beets. I love unscheduled days or...correction...days when I do my own scheduling.

Good Tuesday morning, all! As we gather together round the Coffee Cart, we bring with us the events and thoughts we have: closing out old bank accounts, getting ready to move, enjoying an unscheduled day, and baking banana bread, as well as the other activities that fill our days. We settle down over coffee and tea, doughnut holes, and, thanks to Paradox3, banana bread. The tea water is ready, the coffee is brewed, and the snacks nicely arrayed. All is ready, and all are welcome. Come join the conversations!
