Hope it goes well @Northwind. Spent a few hours at Emerg with mom last night. She has a rash that looks like a burn on her neck. Nursing home started to do allergy treatments which weren’t having any noticeable effect. Strange that they took her blood pressure at the nursing home and said top number was 130 and that was okay. When my Emerg nurse niece asked to look at the numbers it was recorded as 183. That’s when we decided to bring mom in for bloodwork. Infection? Allergy? Behavioral? (She rubs neck, face, eyes).

Today is scan day. My doctor got my scans moved from September 10 today because of numbers that are creeping up in my bloodwork. Of course my oncologist is away until mid-September. The GP Oncologist said we can talk to another onc if necessary. I expect a treatment change is in my near future.

It's another warm day here.
Hopefully your scans aren't as bad as you might fear. Hugs.

Wishing for whatever is the best result of the scans. Also gentle explanations about the revealed situation.
I had one on Thursday and haven't managed to get results yet. I'm assuming that no news is good news! My family doc once phoned with results before we got home (one hour drive). He said Get to the ER NOW!

Your mum is fortunate to have you looking out for her well being. Hope the situation resolves soon.

My mom once walked into emergency with lower blood oxygen than some bodies in the morgue, according to her oncologist.

I've always described her as the greatest impediment to her own healthcare.

May Northwind and everyone else here not be like my mom.

Wow. I've had a doctor call like that. Luckily it was to say all was stable.
Mine was due to a misdiagnosis. I went to the ER with severe shortness of breath, going blue etc..
Doc called it a COPD exascerbation.
Admitted on IV antibiotics for five days.
A previously arranged CT scan two days later showed pneumothorax. It was rated as life threatening and I was sent to the city for drainagge.

Neither of the doctors involved were MY doctor. My words weren't heard. What I was saying and feeling matched the collapsed lung situation.

Wow. That sucks. I'm glad someone finally listened. Does your doctor listen better now?

I've thought of how it sucks that it takes a cancer diagnosis or another severe diagnosis to be taken seriously.

Actually, my regular doc was away at the time. Was horrified to get the radiology report once back at work. It seems to me that quite a lot of the docs we get here lack good listening skills. Many of them have English as their second or third language. In their defense I should say that I too have a accent that challenges some of the docs!

I'm back home. I just looked at my health portal and the reports have been entered. Hopefully the doctor will call to let me know what they say. I can read them myself on the 31st but prefer to hear it first.

There is something here that rings "common" in my soul ... dark feelings about pros with wants? Tweak of Con Science ...

Many say it is immaterial ... one has to speak of it subtly ... the pros rage ... that they can do nothing wrong!

Good Thursday morning! Churches in trouble, beginning of university studies, scan day, taking a loved one in for bloodwork, various ER adventures, other physicians than one's own; plus the things that arise today. Lots of things to discuss as we gather round the Coffee Cart for conversation, support and connection. This morning the Wonderbakery has provided us with macaroons to enjoy with the caffeinated beverages. Thetea water is boiling, the coffee freshbrewed as always, and macaroons are warm from the oven. All is ready, and everyone is welcome. Come join the fun!

Oooh macaroons. Don't mind if I do. Thankyou @Redbaron .

I'm looking forward to seeing youngestson who is coming home from his deployment for the long weekend. Well celebrate his birthday while he's home. I'm hoping he will also be home at Thanksgiving

Had a lovely visit yesterday afternoon with a friend from work from the 80s and early 90s. Her sons babysat my boys. Fun to catch up, laugh and enjoy a lovely fall day. Side benefit of planning the reunion. Look forward to having her and her spouse out later in the fall.

Here in Fredericton we have Pic Aroons or Aron's ... so one can stare into the mug ... bottomed out? Time gentle people ...

Urns ... back end of what's ahead in destiny, etc. unsure uncertainty pall ... clouded ... because of what we don't know yet layabout in conspiracy ... with +'s and negatives!

Good morning. I have to get a leaky tire checked this morning then bloodwork. We're celebrating a friend's birthday today at the great Mexican restaurant next door. It's a good group of friends so it will be fun.

Thanks for the macaroons.
