Seriously, though, Rita couldn't have picked a worse person to quote had she chose a line from Karl Marx.

To remind people, I read a lot about Groucho when I was a teenager. I was fascinated by him and his wit inspires me to this day. How do you just pull a random quote from a historical figure and not think to check if it applies at all?

Rita, there's no thinking going on upstairs with you. It's just cheap shots and they don't even apply.

There are folk that refuse iron clad humus ... the Stele Aye? It has caused many cartoon personalities disconcertion ... Wilson?

In the world of several powers of God ... imagine the composite as spoilt!

Powers of God? Didn't I list them elsewhere ... many of them conflicted as parts of MB; sensationalism blinding knowledge and developing intellect?

A flash of the Rev. Dr. Black ... mysterious ... homologous ... gous?

I don't see how that addresses what I wrote about Groucho, at all. You went hunting for something to refute me with, and came back with him making a generic "corrupt politician" joke? That's all you've got?

Remember the poles are all about something to resist ... this epistemology as the stem rises only to be cut down ... by woodsmen ... gentleman of Red Riding Hood's dram! That as spirit composed of several drams ... terrible Cian ... watch for it!

Hells bells. Develoments from Ontario. Doug Ford is being muscular and throwing Polievre and the unions both under the bus in a brilliant bid to become the "not batshit" conservative choice. Looks like Canada the Smart is deciding to jettison the Maple Magas. And now Mark Carney can come out of the closet as a Red Tory.

With an "S" that would make a good story to pass on as the truth cannot be exposed due to how it would embarrass leaders ... as they rush into the fray ... phules? Or just hooles and hoots ... as the past goes down ... where ... its a mystery! Like that alien thing labelled psyche ... strange love eh?

They say the thing in hormonal or endowed with endogeneity but contained ... another meme brane?

Well said. I can’t find anything to disagree with in this astute comment. I’m not 100% sure about what Carney will do - he’s new on the political scene and we haven’t heard much except about Trump and tariffs - but if he’s a Red Tory, ideologically he seems pretty on par with the mainstream of the Democratic Party in the US, which is actually right of centre in the big picture - despite being called “socialist” by the Republicans. More to the left of them, possibly.

I feel like he wouldn’t be a terrible choice though, as far as the choices we have.

A lot of people seem relieved to have Carney as a leadership choice, even if they normally vote further to the left or to the right.

There's this old adage about fools rushing in under the stress of great emotions because they don't stop and listen to anything ... especially themselves and without that exterior self ... they lost it. Why some folk believe that our planet is the insane asylum for a great number of other planets and go rounds ...

Nothing is the only thing that makes sense ... and it stands opposed to the alternate nothing ... sort of like presidential options on conspiring to do just that; take us back to our beginning ... a cosmological crank! Maybe a dirty dervish ...

That's kind of the problem with the political spectrum right now. It's all kind of relative. Party A gets tagged "lefties" but are actually centre in the bigger picture and that sort of thing. Carney leans left compared to Poilievre but right compared to Singh so ends up looking centrist, vs. Trudeau who leaned almost as far left as Singh on some issues. I guess Trudeau provided a clearer contrast to the CPC but that leftward lean probably also made more middle-of-the-road people who want the Liberals as a centrist or maybe centre-left option uncomfortable.

Funny, I saw Trudeau leaning right. SNC Lavalin scandal, Jody Wilson Raybould resigning, appointing pro-MAiD expansionist Lametti as AG/ Justice Minister.

I see Carney as center right. I am concerned he might throw workers under the bus to help tge economy, but he was quick to make EI better for workers.

Have noticed a line that some Carney supporters have now started using is, 'Carney will make a great Prime Minister because he already IS a great Prime Minister.'

*sigh* If only that was true

Should one wobble to cause the sky to twinkle? Thus the shimmer ah ... a kind of dance we are entrained within ... the exceptions are with out aq loo ...

AQ may appear as asco ... a deux!

This is concerning. Carney’s dropped other candidates for lesser or less obvious reasons, including in the riding seat he now occupies. I actually think letting this slide will hurt him and doesn’t reflect well on him. I wish he’d handled it differently as soon as it happened. But I guess it can be decided at the polls? Still, it’s not a good sign that he’s brushed this aside. Carney needs to strike a different tone here. Colour me skeptical.

I have trouble understanding how any political candidate, especially an experienced one, could say something so stupid. He should have been dropped. Keeping him makes it look like the Chinese government has the support of the Liberal party.

I agree. Singh is right on this. Those comments were chilling and unacceptable and I question Carney’s leadership qualities for not taking that stance. It should be a bipartisan no-brainer that you don’t tolerate statements like that from any MPs. It’s a big oopsie that might hurt the Liberals so they’d better get on it.

It's the same old, same old. Close ranks and plug your ears. We've seen every party do this with members who pulled crap at some point. Carney may be an outsider to party politics but is clearly not enough of one. Or he's listening too closely to advisors who are not outsiders. And, sadly, I doubt enough Canadians outside the Chinese community will care enough for it to make a difference on April 28. In fact, I imagine that even the media will forget about it as soon as some other "hot new story" pops up. I might even argue that it only got attention because it's basically been a slow campaign so far given the parties are largely united in their anti-Trump stances.
