Carney will be fine
In England Carney was known by several nicknames.

'Mark Carnage,' 'the unreliable boyfriend' and 'Circus Carney' to name a few.

Most of his nicknames are from Carney's childhood.

In Sept. 2016 he told a group of schoolchildren:

“I was given nicknames that were variants of my last name, which is Carney, so I was called Carnival or Carnage or things like that. I like Carnage a little better than Carnival. It seemed a little more manly I guess.”

Trudeau will never be forgotten

Glad 22 minutes is still going strong

He gave us so much
Life with him was never boring

EDIT:

my fav accomplishment of his administration I think would be his involvement with the Truth and Reconciliation movement

2nd to that would be his admin getting the vaccine oot

Waterfall thought that one up, hun

Is that directed at Waterfall? I hope not

I cannot find anyone but you directing this particular verbiage at our new prime minister. Please provide me with a quote, assuming you wish to share the role of a**hole.

I'm serious, at whoever first did this.

Right out of the gate, insulting a new Prime Minister ON HIS NAME, which he could do nothing about, is low, super lower class, unneccessarily demeaning and divisive, and generally, so ultimately class-less, that let's just not talk. So, whoever did this first, don't talk to me. Seriously, I have no respect for this position.

I am disappointed at Canadians who are so eager to disrespect a new prime minister as to give him a more than racist sounding nickname BASED ON NOTHING, but ugly stupid rhyming which some cultures do but we don't. How childish of you.

FECK OFF, especially if you feel remotely inclined to DM me.
Meant it as a compliment, not to be racist, Bette. I said "Carney - no blarney" as a way of saying he's honest not bulls***ting

I don’t know. A few people have said it. It’s not that bad, really, to be fair. He doesn’t seem like the type to be too bothered by something like that. He seems pretty unflappable, with healthy confidence. He was on Jon Stewart and does actually have a sense of humour.

It was moi that mentioned it first.....I suggested it as a name that the opposition would probably come up with because that seems to be the way politics is going these days.
Not as something I would use.....

Btw, if you read or hear that PM Carney is banned from Parliament, please give them this

It'll be interesting to see how the coming election goes
Not sure why anyone would think that. He doesn't have a seat so would have to sit in the gallery, but I have not heard anything about him being banned. Even if there had been a Parliamentary motion of some kind banning him, the Liberals would likely have no problem getting the votes needed to revoke it. The Opposition would rather have him present for grilling than sitting on the sidelines. That said, it's a moot point if he calls an election before Parliament resumes because he will likely win a seat in that election.

A mere131,000 of 400,000 total Liberal Caucus registered voters just selected a Prime Minister.

Someone no less who has never held elected public office, doesn’t hold a seat in Parliament, speaks very poor French and has lived much of his adult life outside of Canada.

Given that he has spent the last several years selling his version of neo-colonial debt slavery as sustainable development I think I will nickname him Marketable Carnage.

People are keeping an eye on him

I don't vote Fed anymore, so...

Once again, this is how a Parliamentary system works. It is a feature, not a bug. Ours works this way. Britain's works this way. Other countries running on the British model (most of the Commonwealth, in fact and some other countries as well) work this way. The Prime Minister is not a directly elected executive Head of State like a US President. He is the Head of Government and is therefore chosen by the government, which is the party with the most seats in the House of Commons.

How is this democratic? We as voters choose the government by voting for our local MP. The party with the most MPs is the government. Their leader gets to be head of government, aka PM. That's democratic because the party in power is chosen by the voters, if somewhat indirectly. If anything is undemocratic, it's that our head of state is a hereditary monarch on loan from another country (King Charles III at present).

And, frankly, it is arguably no less democratic than the US system where the votes for the President actually go to the "Electoral College" who then choose the President. Due to how the college seats are allocated, once can win the popular vote but still lose on the electoral vote. How is that democratic?

So you are welcome to dislike Mr. Carney all you like. But he was chosen under the rules of our relatively democratic system and is therefore our PM.
