I do not understand why Trudeau seems to not understand how he offends people. Either his advisors lie to him or they are dense or he is incapable of understanding that people see him differently than he sees himself.

Maybe he hasn't finished tweaking his resume yet?

I totally understand him keeping quiet for awhile. Still, he could make a short statement on the events of this week without looking like Sammy Sunshine. He looks like an idiot when he does that. That being said, I remember one response to the issues around Jodi Wilson-Raybould. He looked like an exasperated parent whose children were misbehaving. It was a very inappropriate response. Perhaps his advisors/handlers have told him to stay quiet after how he handled previous events.

He's shown he doesn't understand conflicts of interests and other things over the years.

I really don't think he understands how he comes across. I'm thinking he's rather narcissistic.

When I was a manager for an out of school child care company, I attended a program on how boys are different. One of those differences was development of the part of the prefrontal complex responsible for understanding how other people might experience or see our actions. In his case, he seems to have significantly delayed development of this capacity.

Well is a clouded personality defect part of the effect of privileged power gone corrupt? We are told in ancient writing that power corrupts ... but are we blinded thereof? Expect snow jobs ... noe-elle ... (in kinetic theory that is noe-L) in whicch with enough whiteout it all goes dark as the night of SOL ... iso late shun ... then we rest (as indicated by the old Hebrew word "noe" or ןיל as if someone turned out the lights in GEO Ghia! A lesson on chaos on the earth ...

Folk appear to prefer it to organized knowledge --- Tilloch 'd into the quiet! Poesy?

A point against organized power as it tends to inequity! The authority wants everything but info ... (intelligence, data, know-how) ? Know we don't ... it is all in the semantics ... some say metaphorical so as to keep the reason undercover ... unreasonable? Carpe diem! Grab it when you can ...

The bulk, paradigmatically would rather not ... a great hump to pass ...

I just heard someone being interviewed on the radio this morning. I think it was an MP or former MP or something like that. He reminded us that Trudeau grew up in a political royalty bubble so doesn't see things the same as others. This bubble would make him think he can accomplish great things.

I wonder what he thinks of the f*** Trudeau stuff....

Singh has said the NDP is finally ready to pull the plug and would introduce a confidence motion after the Christmas recess.

And the cabinet shuffle details:

Singh saying this so publicly is a bit suspicious. Is he really serious or is it a negotiating tactic? Guess we will find out in the New Year. Of course, the Libs could try to buy time by proroguing, as someone (@Northwind?) mentioned up thread.

And another new Ipsos poll, this one taken after the Freeland debacle, has Trudeau almost down the levels achieved by Michael Ignatieff. Which led to the Liberals not just losing the election, but becoming the third party, with the NDP becoming the official opposition.

And the percentage of Canadians wanting an early election has shifted, too. 53% want the opposition to take down the Liberals vs. 54% against in the poll released on Monday before Freeland resigned.

Yeah, I hope Trudeau is going to do some thinking over the holidays.

I just saw Trudeau's response to reporters. It was good to see him be appropriate and not Sammy Sunshine. His answers were evasive, as any politician would be.

I also saw Charlie Angus being interviewed by Ben Meiselas of Midas Touch. I nominate Angus for leader of the NDP.

Well, he is the guy that Singh beat to get the job. So him getting another crack at it would be fine with me.

I'm liking how he is responding to the threat of tariffs. I also like how he speaks of our government dynamics. He's straightforward and still respectful. Is respectful old fashioned?

I hope not. I hope mindless and fact-free populism can still be beat by straightforward and respectful.

I'm afraid I might be wrong.

But alas, the powers do say that is not respectful to them and thus you should be denied ability to process anything ...

It is how budgets are cut, shaved and reduced to unmanageable degrees so the powers get more ... and the dumb paradigm doesn't know the difference!

Creates a rapture or some kind of semantic cleavage ... even the infinite needs a break, ultimately! Thus Ci El comes down about our ears ... Ciel ... that's de blue heavens ... who set her down as Luci*EL? Its a heated item ...

I saw Trudeau's statement on television. Definitely not sunshiny. But, he stumbled over a few words. And his grin looked pasted on. I actually felt a little sorry for him. I've always thought that he needed better advisers...ones with connections to the unprivileged life. My political leanings are Liberal, although I've voted all over the map. However, I could not vote Liberal if things stay as they are. And I don't see a lot of up and coming bright lights.

I thought Trudeau showed some effects of a stressful week. It will be interesting to see what his reflections over the holidays will bring. I suspect he'll need to lose an election to get the message. That might not even be enough.
