God looked at the stretch of highway 11 between Gravenhurst and Bracebridge and said, "f*** that area in particular."

Collingwood area had 4 inches earlier this afternoon. And cold temperatures in the first half of December mean ski resorts outside of the GTA and north of the 401 corridor will open in 1-2 weeks.

Completed the online training to be a staff member this year where I'm coaching. It used to be a page saying, "Don't hit the kids." Which is probably why I hit that one kid. And that worked out great. I got a story out of it.

These HR types don't know what they're talking about.

So, we found the christmas trees at the church today (covered in cobwebs and plastic spiders for hallowe'en; they first migrated there to be part of a forest for vacation bible camp). Retrieved the smaller one; I grabbed the top, Mike the bottom, Tim the janitor followed us collecting stray branches. This fake tree, 30 years old if it's a day, has been shedding needles like a real tree since it was manufactured. How can it not be totally bald?

Might decorate it tomorrow, we are apparently feeling a bit Christmas-y. And we have a very sad celebration of life tomorrow, so could do with some cheering up later in day.

My very good friend has been volunteering at a home for developmentally challenged adults for 3 years now. Suddenly it's urgent that she get police record check for vulnerable persons, etc. She's 77, doesn't drive, etc. and the person she volunteers with is a properly accredited UCCan minister, retired but still a VAM. I get crossing the 't's, but crikey.

Yeah, I had to submit to a police background check.

In all seriousness, the coaches, trainers and doctors who touched athletes f***ed up their victims first and foremost, but they also f***ed up coaching. Now there's a "rule of 2" where I can't be with an athlete without another coach and another athlete around. No 1-on-1 sessions. If I want to work with one athlete on a specific skill, I have to take another coach AND another athlete to work on it, whether I need them or not.

Good morning! Snow and cataracts, gazebos and Christmas decorations, coaching and police records checks, all the other things that will pop up today, we bring them to the Coffee Cart with us, to discuss, support, and show care. We do this over fresh brewed coffee, hot tea, and molasses cookies, among other baked goodies. The Room is comfortably warm, cushions fluffed. All are welcome, all is ready. Come in and join the fun!

Our driveway was ploughed in the wee hours of the morning. What a mammoth job for all who were engaged in snow removal yesterday. I posted our church’s weekly announcements on our Facebook page last Saturday and began with: No snow yet! In two days we are over double our typical November snowfall.

Efficiency of pro nature in a world of CON's ... well something is deficient and no one will accept that it is the CON's ... it just is self incriminatory ... like the reason for electing stupid ... what type does one cultivate to do that? Do not read into anything too profound-Leigh if you don't wish to know the reason.

It is just the way it goes see ... it is now gone ... did you miss it without a reason to? So they didn't ... an impossible situation that just was an incident ... with consequence that are unseen as yet ... like that harry monkey ... of there screaming about like a Ja-bird ... Canada has it's own version that we export ...

If you see it don't say a word! In the termination (the end) we may find so much connected by Leon's Sacred Chord ... its darker ...

The wheels of authority turn slowly eh. Maybe too many boxes to tick, by too many people.

One of my kids is working at a Group Home for special needs people. A few days ago the entire staff locked themselves in a 'safe' bathroom while waiting for help. A client lost control and trashed the place - after throwing the Christmas tree at someone. Fortunately' the rest of the residents had been taken out for coffee.

Good morning! Happy First Sunday of Advent! For those who plow driveways, and for those who work with special needs persons, we give thanks. For their safety, and for the police check red tape, as well as whatever arises today, we bring to the Coffee Cart for chat and support. The coffee is fresh brewed, the tea water is hot, the cookies are warm from the oven, and the fruitcake is available too. Come join the conversations! All is ready, all are welcome!

Life is sordid, seamy and kind of a dirt you have to experience for the true facts while others ... you know ... they label "M" alternate facts ...

What a donkey ... sorry! ... just satyr ...

No snow near Toronto. My folks in Beaver Valley have about a foot. Our neighbours in Muskoka may have double that.

I've seen videos of people being stuck on highway 11 for 4+ hours. Not sure why they were out there. Lots of transport trucks as well. If you don't need to drive through those conditions, please don't.

I once had a close friend come up to ski with her new fiancé (who we liked a whole lot better than her previous fiancé who was crazy religious and controlling - his name really was Calvin). She's a very devout Christian as well, and wanted to be home Sunday morning because I recall she was supposed to lead Sunday School. So she left Saturday after dinner as a snowstorm was rolling in. We pleaded with them to stay overnight. They got stranded on highway 10 between Dundalk and Shelburne, at least at a motel. God managed to plunk a hotel down in the middle of nowhere for them, though it had been there for decades.

Note that this request to not drive during a snowstorm does not apply to me when I'm going skiing.

Thinking of the Christmas season when patterns are shifted.

I'm thankful for the two adult rule despite the hardships

Remembering a choir director who would give kids rides home. He was creepy and there was inappropriateness that i didn't know how to name for he girl in the middle of the front seat or the person getting extra lessons.

Remembering the guy who would give staff a ride home, then stop the car in the middle of nowhere.

Remembering the two men talking about landing a job the great private school that had so much luscious tender flesh.

The s**t still exists out there, but the rules make some organizations less of an opportunity rich environment.

I'm thankful for those who names the issues and our controls in place

I understand why they're there, Jayne, and I'm not against the rules. It just sucks that they're needed. This old coach is going to have to go through a learning period because I'm used to coaching by myself.

I was always aware of this stuff. I did actually have a junior coach with me during university. Around the early 90s every team got a second coach. Also my pay went down as we had to pay them all, lol. By this time I was dating my future wife and she was a fixture at races and events, volunteering with things like start lists, bibs, lift tickets, bib collection, etc. One of my kids came up to us and asked, "So, will it be a June wedding?" Bastard. Funny, funny kid. He's an actor now - has been a leading man on Harlequin specials. Has a new special on Netflix. I digress.

But they always paired me up with the attractive 18-year-old junior female coach. Like, five years in a row. I assumed that was because I wouldn't hit on them. I was the safe coach to put them with. I had zero reputation for being inappropriate, unlike some of my fellow coaches.

So it's been recognized for 30-odd years, but now it has fundamentally changed all sport, and really all kids activities. I can't just take a kid to work on something. If a kid is having a hard time, I can't take them somewhere away from the group and have a one-on-one. And that makes me a bit sad. I have to find new ways to incorporate targeted training and personal help.

I was slightly wrong. He doesn't act in "Hot Frosty" - he was the producer.

And some of us ask how impossibly unlikely situations occur! Some say these are quantum events when quan Ted ... TED being a program of tech. Educational and diverse interesting matter ... no anti matter ... too energetic for even the gifted stupid ... in court they respond: "honorably, I don't know!"

And a populace accepts that for reason we don't grasp. Shar pai?

I am currently watching church from my recliner at home. Yay for YouTube. Today is visiting Sunday where people were encouraged to invite someone to church. The place looks full so that probably means many invites.

Yesterday was a busy day so sloth is welcome today. I'm working on my shawl while I watch.

Decorations are done except for the tree, lights are up outside

Wrapped some gifts as were bigger and in my way, plus my sister's gift.

Sister arrives late tonight. Tomorrow we will head to Eastern Ontario to see my brother and sister-in-law, hoping the roads are good
