The Lord of Vengeance - Psalm 94

Anyhow, back to the Psalms. These read so clearly as human poetry reflecting human situations and problems and human feelings about God that I can only see "God breathed" as meaning divinely inspired in the way the Muses supposedly inspired Greek poets. They are just too human to be literal "Word of God".

I mean , looking at 94 again, this fits so well with any situation where conquest or corrupt rule leads.to oppression and suffering.

Imagine the contemplation of cooperation given years of exposure to avarice as ide-AL!

Really beyond the normal ego, turned in type, counter the outliers! That endogeneity scatter as economic void? Chill covers the spread of the LAN's!

Chrystal Gale, clear storm ... and the heat radiates poetically ... blossoming wack when it impedes whatever you were preforming prior!

Humans do not like sharing ... face it! Only alien concepts could dream of such as valed by Jo' ... the tapis*trist! What's a tryst? That's out of sight or it could catch ... chaos en Sue!

Psalm 23 is a notable exception to the regular format. I plan to host a thread about it in the fall. I have Harold Kushner's book about the twenty third psalm which I will pull out for another read.

The 23 rd is of quint ... points to the 23 chapter of the Biblical record ... I say awe? This when the entire light comes to you as you blast from a darker spot --- Plato on concerns, etc. meditations? Few rest long enough for that! The rites demand more labour even when things are automated and autistic ... individuated?

I think we might have a copy of that book around the house, too. I know there's some Kushner on our bookshelf and I think it is more than just the classic When Bad Things Happen To Good People.
Which, I guess, might have relevance for this Psalm now that I thing of it.

PS 119 is interesting on the display of Hebrew lettermen ... t is seldom read into for depth 've understanding ... so way down on the pathé ... like paddae ... passed over ...

Thanks for the suggestion, Luce. I shall start with that one. :giggle:

That's the word characterized (personified) in little bits as a broken image of an ongoing story, myth, ballad, etc. When considering each letter has a meaning ... the object explodes ... gone with the wind ... blown? It is a peculiar if not odd interpretation for those stuck on some distant bit ... Gae as a Gale? Crystal clarity once passed ... Joe BLTZFX? Then there is that gritty going on on the strand ... Hildago?

In the Celt Isles maybe sea horses and Kelpies ... some kind of Pi as a lenthy letter when numbered ... Alef is just cover for the initiation sequence ... under the canopy? It has versions in other traditions of phoque lored ... abstract type! Sometimes beyond mortal comprehension that is understoof to be limited for some alein reason ... someone never asked or knocked, gnoshed ... ide over ... people in a dash missed the point ... ellipses?

CS Lewis dedicates his Problem of Pain to inklings ... these too are dribble down functions ... ala plume?

Ok back to the Psalm in this part of Psummer

This notion of wicked

Reminds me of a time RevJohn gave me an analogy for what seems to me to be horrific acts of genocide by My Lord

RevJohn gave the analogy of cancer and what do we do with cancer?

So another thought: there is this neat movie, I think Bette mentioned it, an Inuit movie where a great evil was besetting a settlement...and even tho it was eventually conquered, one of the people was excommunicated out of the settlement at the end...so wouldn't that be an example of how the Inuit deal with the wicked?

I know there is a tendency here to treat all cultures as equal, in that they have equal effects...and that affects how we feel aboot our world and how we organize the facts aboot the world...

(which reminds me, I came across a blogger who has been studying various things like the Communist Manifesto and Mao's works and they have compared the suffering under Stalinism to the suffering under Capitalism...finally actual #'s lol)

So yeah, have there been actual instances of wicked people? Wicked groups? Wicked cultures? Countries? Or people so damaged that they cannot become undamaged? I dunno...I guess it all depends on what BS one looks at it through?

Just things thst have come loose

Addendum:

so, only God gets to choose who dies in a justified way...by definition, anything God does is part of the plan and God can only do Good...

So it is God who "knows" who is wicked and not...

So if we kill without God's sanction, then we are sinning?

Another notion: I have also heard it said that some Christians believe that say the POTUS and PM have their Authority through God, so Zelenskyy turning Russians into chunky salsa have God's stamp of approval on it...thus has been a new way of thinking aboot it, in the past year...

Anyway, new thots

Does anyone still actually believe that? I mean, maybe believe that they are blessed if they follow God's will but that sounds rather like Divine Right monarchy. I know the evangelicals kind of regarded Trump as God's chosen (apparently less so second time around) but how much of that was sincere belief and how much was just supporting the guy who might actually implement some of their policies? My sense is the latter and that they would happily turn on him if he didn't live up (and some have).
