What Legacy Does Trump Leave?

It's not about whataboutism, it's about your video....listening fairly to the people, not their leader.

You brought up the sins of liberalism. Of course it's not perfect. I'm also not convinced it is the answer.

The video made no mention of liberalism. Robert Reich was presenting the case that the wannabe president, thrice indicted, twice impeached man is a fascist leader. Bringing up the flaws of liberalism in this manner is whataboutism.

Nikki Haley would beg to differ on that point. And she's quite right-wing but otherwise seems a reasonable option. Too bad a non-white (her parents were Sikh immigrants from India) woman leading the GOP ticket isn't likely to happen.
Thanks for the correction...

There could be an influx of professionals vacating the US -- coming here to be teachers, medical professionals, engineers. They can work without fear.I hear Canada's immigration requirements are stringent
We need to work on that.
Other professionals we need are builders, service people, miners, etc....the "other" professionals.:)

Remember they all went south earlier due to the draw of unspeakable wealth extorted in unspeakable means! Poetic disorder? Said at one time to be Eris ... or these crude ...

Hoos crewed? You didn't see it outside the empiric?

I watched the video very closely.
But here's the thing, let's look at the people that liberalism has ignored. It takes up the cause for lgbtq, abortion, minorities, educated, etc...but there are a whole group of impoverished and homeless Americans who have fallen behind in the great march forward since world war 2. They are being ignore[/ISPOILER]

And the ones that aren't suitable?
We need to work on that (as I mentioned).

I don't think they are as at risk of being killed by wackos with guns in their professions though. Sounds you you thought I was being deliberately exclusionary. That isn't the case.

It takes up the cause for lgbtq, abortion, minorities, educated, etc...but there are a whole group of impoverished and homeless Americans who have fallen behind in the great march forward since world war 2. They are being ignored as their society extolls the virtues of education ( yet denies the poor) and promotes the rich as living the dream (through media and what it means to be successful)
We may not like it, but Trump( a man of privilege) has tapped into their voice...and we may not like the cries of the other half that feel they have become invisible, but they are there, and democracy demands they are to be heard also. And if the Republicans win, that is democracy speaking also. Liberalism has its faults also...it can create poverty and devision.
You are not describing liberalism. You are describing do gooder privileged people playing at being good people without threatening the source of their economic well being. The Clintons are a classic example. I remember Hilary trying to prevent workers in the hospitality business, mostly women, in Las Vegas from voting in the primaries because she knew they would support Bernie.

its easy to be human during times of no stress

when stressed, tho...

What can the right wingers be stressed and insecure about if you've told all the right lies? It remains extreme ... polar!

Sphere's of this sort are complicated and sophisticated to those used to flat out deflated states of nothing ...

Simplicity does not adhere to sophistication in any case (newts or not)! Legalized nuts ...

Just found out a Canadian is getting 22 years for trying to assassinate Him with a ricin-laced letter :(

What a complete waste of a life

I was told a rice diet was good for you ... and why in parts of the orient they have limited diets ... due to fascaes they are expected to be mute about!

In some cases it is a thin memberane that holds some orders together ...

Another legacy

The POTUS with the biggest dangling ovies, the largest gall bladder and is now the first usage in the dictionary for chutzpah

I don't have access to the article, but here is something from FindLaw,-- Amendment 14, Section 3

Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3:

"No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability."

Could the disqualification clause prevent Donald Trump from running for president in 2024?

Theoretically, yes. Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment gives Congress the power to disqualify someone who has already held a public office from holding "any office" if they participate in an "insurrection or rebellion" against the United States.

But since this mechanism has never been used against a president, there are still questions to resolve. The disqualification clause applies to current and former federal officials, state officials, and military officials. However, legal scholars are split on whether the disqualification clause applies to the presidency. It's likely the 14th Amendment will continue to come up in conversations approaching the 2024 presidential election.

Let us fervently hope the situation doesn't arise. Hopefully his campaign will falter, sputter, and fizzle out over time.
