I'm not sure about the term fascist for Trump,
He benefits too much from democracy to destroy it.

Did you watch the video?

As others have said, he did not benefit from democracy in 2020 or since. Arguably, he is an authoritarian who has been trying to destroy democracy ever since (and before?) he was elected.

He wants absolute power and glory.

I watched the video very closely.
But here's the thing, let's look at the people that liberalism has ignored. It takes up the cause for lgbtq, abortion, minorities, educated, etc...but there are a whole group of impoverished and homeless Americans who have fallen behind in the great march forward since world war 2. They are being ignored as their society extolls the virtues of education ( yet denies the poor) and promotes the rich as living the dream (through media and what it means to be successful)
We may not like it, but Trump( a man of privilege) has tapped into their voice...and we may not like the cries of the other half that feel they have become invisible, but they are there, and democracy demands they are to be heard also. And if the Republicans win, that is democracy speaking also. Liberalism has its faults also...it can create poverty and devision.

There could be an influx of professionals vacating the US -- coming here to be teachers, medical professionals, engineers. They can work without fear.I hear Canada's immigration requirements are stringent
We need to work on that.

And the ones that aren't suitable?

I don't like Trump as a political leader, he's using a possibly justified group to form his Kleptocracy and nepotism to his own advantage, perhaps.

To express an opinion on the question that sparked this discussion, yes, I think Trump would qualify as a fascist.

I seriously doubt that the Republicans pay these people much attention, either.

I absolutely see the need for change and understand how some got hooked on the MAGA narrative. That does not diminish the danger he represents. He has done nothing to listen to their demands other than to use their voices for his own gain. To gain power. Nothing he has done helps those who are disenfranchised.

Whataboutism doesn't help the argument.

We need more conversations like this

T sar ... think of it a crossing head folk in that sar was once reference to something using the head! it crossed my mine as a deep void hungry of things some folk would sooner not know because of the pain of knowledge!

Is that out there ... heading up like a differnt shade of pimple?

And if the Republicans win, that is democracy speaking also.
Is it if they are jerrymandering districts and putting in laws designed to discourage voting? If they are encouraging states to submit any old list of electors instead of the ones actually elected? Appealing election results to judges they appointed to help them further their cause? The GOP are showing contempt for democracy, not respect.

I seriously doubt that the Republicans pay these people much attention, either.
This. They are using them, not planning to actually do anything for them. Trump's appeal to the coal miners sounded good, but the fact was that the reason they were laid off was not just environmental legislation killing coal, it was the mining companies automating their operations so that they required fewer workers in the mines that were still working. So Trump killing programs designed to discourage coal use would not, in fact, have put them back to work, at least not all of them. He played them like a fiddle, knowing full well he could not deliver what he claimed.

How does one grow the absent republic .. with stoic empiric presentations that are erroneous ... exponents of ignorance ... and how it goes!

Uppstanding ETs ...

I agree, but who else do they have?
Look up Kleptocracy.

Automation is the key to ridding us of all labour ..

The keh is where to put labour that you claim to no longer require ... there a stab in demos as Ք in transliteration ... take a stab at getting outside the paradigm ...

I agree, but who else do they have?

Who else do who have? The Republicans or the people?

The Republicans have several candidates who seem reasonable though probably have little chance of winning. Will Hurd, Tim Scott are two that come to mind. Even though one person is whining and boasting, he is not the only choice.

Look up Kleptocracy.

It fits too.

It's not about whataboutism, it's about your video....listening fairly to the people, not their leader.

Alas ... the people be damned .. how phoque goes down in ignorance as mine blowing incident ... prodigeous populace folly? Below certain limits the entire thing falls off ... endogeneity returns with an extracting vengenance ... unseen and thus blind reactions?

It's unfortunate isn't it....all men by the way.

MenOz is the way of fish ... slippery?

Wiil Trump survive long enough to be bit on the hind by following democracy improperly? Leader of impropriety!
