What do you accept on faith alone?

You apparently assume that God randomly heals one person and not another, regardless of the conditions established by Jesus for such healings.
Did your "sweet friend Beth" receive the laying on of hands by a proven gifted healer like Mark?
Did the apostle Paul? Is that why his "thorn" wasn't removed from his side?
This reeks a little bit like the story of Job, whose friends sanctimoniously pointed out that he must have done something wrong to deserve the many hardships and horrors he endured.

Yeah, this is the kind of thing disability advocate/influencer Footless Jo talks about when she gets into her faith (she's ex-vangelical). She basically got constantly hit with "your faith isn't strong enough" or "you're doing it wrong" or "try this healer/prayer" instead of getting help and compassion as she struggled with the painful injury that ultimately led to having her leg amputated. And she apparently still gets people in her comments insisting that if she has faith and prays right, her leg will grow back.

Yes compassion, God in us!

You forget that God often says No to petitionary prayer for a variety of reasons. In 1 Corinthians, Galatians, and Romans, Paul celebrates the miracles he performed to promote the Gospel. Paul has the gift of healing and teaches the God imparts this gift to others. So why didn't his gift allow him to heal his "thorn?" Because Paul in effect admits that his miraculous success filled him with ego-driven "elation," a condition that could impede his healing power. God tells him why his thorn is not removed--so that God's power can be perfected through Paul's "weakness," weakness that keeps him more humble.

Don't forget that God rebukes Job's friends for their presumption. God allows Satan a free hand to cause Job misery.

The thorn may release the ho terra sorts as oleph arts ... all under cover as depricated ...

I do not know if I accept anything on faith alone. I have a Facebook page titled Possibilities and Probabilities in a World of Beliefs and Experiences. I have not done much with it for a few years. Bernard Lonergan, a Jesuit science teacher, priest, theologian, and seminary teacher, argued the world we call the real world tests the truthfulness of what we believe. If a belief is proven false by observations of reality, then the belief needs to change.

I believe in an essentially good, self sacrificing universe because there is abundant evidence of that in our observations from exploding stars to the continuously diminishing sun to plants and much more. I have too many essential coincidental experiences to accept non belief in an intelligence of some kind taking a personal interest in me and what I do with my life.

Imagine star cycles along with carbon cycles and all those things rimming about in the Story of O (nothing)!

What is inside them? given a large measure of time ... we may encounter spontaneity ... and words will take flight and go round too ... some words have a real bite to them ...

Are words reciprocal by nature ... when released does something form feedback? Is that a principle? Dark prince on the page as a smear against the code to be silent! It creeps ... word is like that if you have such paranoia about word and god knows what else that it speaks to ... thus unconscious realms in the gamma O's ... we are required to take a tour to observe something ... that is ineffable! It is so deficient that it has no place for a labile ... non culpable? That's the onus ... and few see it ... blind faith blossoms without seeing ...
