Had a catch-up message from my first-born today; I texted him to say hi for his 47th birthday last week. He lives in Australia, so visits are scarce, and, well, life happens. His wife is in the early stages of dementia, and he has a teenaged boy to parent at the same time. He's now officially retired, which makes me feel very old...

Good morning! We've made it to Friday. For those of you dealing with ice, be safe. For winding yarn, have fun. For those in contact with family, esp. newly found relations, hope that the contacts and conversations work out well. Forthese events and other themes, the Coffee Cart os up and running. C'mon in and help yourself.

The snowfall here seems ended, probably about 3:30 am when our driveway was plowed. Lots of fluffy white stuff to shovel when I get outside. Going upstairs for breakfast now.

Still just wet here but I think there's flurries in the forecast for today.

While I was away, my Honda sales guy contacted me to advise that he had a new Civic coming that I could have. It is a different colour than I originally ordered but that actually reduced the cost by a bit. So just waiting for delivery date now.

Overcast here but nothing coming down from the sky so far. Sidewalks are clear and I will be grateful if I can get outside for a walk.

We got a fair bit of snow yesterday, and there were some whiteouts. I walked to the grocery store and back and it reminded me of many times I walked the half mile to school as a kid....Winters were often blustery, snowy walks. So the weather brought me back to my younger years, when I accepted the weather, and powered through it without a second thought. (and yes...it was uphill both ways!!!)

More like tragically hip. ;)

Fits the tragic comedy of humans in support of demonishing the other for reason unknown ... still mucha bate 'n ... proto type? Just congregated algae ...

These attract fungus and viral matter ... sometimes Kraken appears ... Scandanavian chimiral item ...

Who remembers the Serta counting sheep? They were the mascots of the mattress company.

I have been playing around with my home decor and just brought out our Serta sheep. I put him on a stack of books for a folk artsy kind of vibe.

Turns out there was a whole flock of them. The Serta website says there were 13 members of the flock but it looks like there might be a couple of newer ones.

We have #36. The Dad :D

Don't recall that but I don't think we've ever had a Serta. Sounds like a fun way to promo it. 13 seems like not enough to count to get you to sleep, though. :ROFLMAO:

Snowy storm in NS today. Supposed to be somewhere between 15 and 25 cm within 24 hrs, than another day with more tomorrow. Is is fizzling out at the moment, so roads are getting cleared. I don’t have it far to go home, my street becomes a problem if the snow is too high to drive into, but I think I will be ok, and then stay there for the rest of the weekend. Maybe we finally have enough to snowshoe.

I remember the commercials. I didn't know they were actual toys.

In the ads there were quite a few, apparently enough to count to put one to sleep. The ads were quite amusing, as I remember.

I recall the day my partner headed to the city to buy us a new Civic. He requested that I stay home (because I find the dickering frustrating). I agreed. He asked if there was anything he should know before dealing. I said "It has to have four doors and be bright red". He returned with a two door silver car that I hated! On the plus side- we actually used it for a year and sold it for more than we paid for it.

All the dickering is over now. This car has been on order since July. They were already out of 2022 so we had to order a 2023 and then wait. We originally ordered black but the one we are getting is silver, the base colour for the LX trim. No complaints. I am really not that fussy about colour. If I was, I'd get a Touring in the gorgeous blue that Honda offers on higher trims. Maybe if I ever go for something fancier that would change.
