Also, a determination to purchase a couple of new items to help with the leaf effort - one of those fold-y contraptions to hold open your leaf bags and some leaf hand rakes for picking up the piles. The Crimson King maple on the boulevard, which I normally hate in the fall as well as the rest of the year, because it starts ugly colours, sort of a wyrd burgundy green, then normally just goes brown and dry and yuck and falls. This year, it has given me the most spectacular of orange and red and gold displays and shows no sign of falling, when all the rest of the maples are pretty bare.
And no pumpkins here, but I did acquire a shiny green witch's hat from the buck store for work tomorrow, and bought and distributed the big candy bars for the two littles across the street, and the slightly older boys next door. The lights will stay off, the dog will stay calm, and after work, my dog walking neighbour is going to use the witch's hat to greet kids with.
