Sounds like a voice over Internet connection. If you don't have a cell phone for backup, those are really a bad idea. Sounds like you still have an old-style analog phone. I use an Internet phone line myself but we also have two cell phones in the house for backup, one with a data plan as well for Internet backup.

Yeah, we have our main computer on a UPS (battery pack) and also have the ATA (the black box the phone plugs into) in it. And for charging cell phones, there's always the car in a pinch (with the garage door open or the car outside, of course). Or go to my office where the computer room is wired to a generator.
 
Ah, weather and the situations it causes for us earthling critters. From power outages to non working phones, to stuck vehicles, such fun! Anyway, weather has not interfered with the coffee cart and its usefulness. Water for tea is boiling, coffee is ready, baked goodies may suddenly appearas well. Enjoy.

Then there are the immaterial concerns that some call insubstantial and have no every for ... thus no response from the great unknown!

Psyche may work that way ... telluric darkness ... underground media ... outlawed by copyright!

Winter sucks if you're not into winter sports. Scenery is pretty but that only gets you so far.

Trying to come up with a story for a new competition on Stories Space. Basic idea is write a story about someone getting a "redo", i.e. a chance to change one decision they made and then exploring the impact of that change on their life. This should be easier than it is, I think. Maybe I'm overthinking or something.

Oh, I underestimated this storm. Power was off again when I woke up at midnight and back at six am. Was about 16 degrees in the house, not too bad. But I really should have put that blanket on the windshield and fet the snowblower to the front door. Snow seemed to have little ice crystals in it, heavy.
Just getting a virtual coffee at the cart after 45 minutes shovelling and scraping the car off. Will try to get the snowblower out of the shed after that, this snow is too much to shovel two driveways.
 
Is underestimating another Eire of psyche ... another crack ... all in the continuum ... like a dimple or pits ... an observation that could be opinionated ... pine down ...

Are such things heard in the mystical forest? Good Lord a flooded swamp ...
 
Good morning. This space is nice and comfortable. My coffee is hitting the spot and my quilt is keeping me warm. It may be another day of mostly lazing. I am going to do some tidying and likely vaccuuming.

Kind of dark and yucky here. Yesterday was cold but at least it was sunny most of the day.
 
Good morning. There's an odd light in the sky and the sky is a weird blue. Is that okay?

We've joined the air fryer crowd. When I was in Victoria there was one left of the version we chose (Ninja Foodi two basket) so I got it. We've tried it for a few things. It will be well used. :)

I keep hearing how great they are but curious as to what you make in it. I could imagine doing various types of fries and maybe battered pickles and tomatoes.

For main courses though, not really sure what I would want done in it. I think my preference for most options would just be oven cooked. For what I would use it for and the price/size not sure of the value. For the fries stuff we do have a raised basket on a pan to elevate oven cooking. For the improvement wouldn't buy it but it was a recieved at a gift exchange and we do use it a handful of times each year.

I've learned that an air fryer is just a convection oven essentially. The model we have has different settings that include bake, roast, air broil, air fry, reheat and dehydrate. I've been watching a bunch of YouTube videos and have learned we can cook a ton of things in it. It will be a good replacement for our convection/microwave that crapped out.

I'm a bit surprised by the details, there are none other than my DTC application has been approved. It will back date although I didn't even get details on that, as there were different dates in the information submitted.

My GPs clinic was finally on board with fully supporting this. I'm surprised how well it worked. My GP was on board before she went on mat leave, she left a note for a nurse and the doctor filling in, had appointment with both of them and they both said they fully thought I should qualify but warned me that the CRA would come back asking for more information, nope!

Will have tax information and bank information to sort through but hard to do much until I know how long I've been disabled. :LOL:

Seems to be a bad week coming ... all things breaking down and thus preparing for the ultimate scatter ... dissemination?

On top of this inflation darkly put in place by powers destabilizing order in the we folk ... common grunts? Pros and cons of the sequence ... should be approached humbly ...

This is unlikely given the propensity of some to rise quickly to power for no other reason than power alone ... the CEO psychopathy!

The dash is on for Putin totalitarianism in place ... breaks me up ... which is to say I have broken interest in powerful leaders ...
 
Snow days for all my working family and friends. Not so much for this retired lady. Just another day. Maybe it will include some shovelling though. We sure got hit by the snow and wind, with promises of more today.
