Novel Coronavirus

When I feel like making them squirm, I mention that my life partner of almost 25 years died of COVID. When I don't, I just call 'em Typhoid Mary (or Typhoid Mark) behind their back. But it's very discouraging that the level of discourse has descended to this. I was very polite, I just said that it was a health and safety issue for me. We have a cashier, in her 60s, whose hubby (like my late old guy) is on dialysis. Now, how would poor Wanda feel if she infected her husband via one of these clowns and he, in turn, infected half the dialysis population of Barrie? What is wrong with the moral compass of "some people"?

Is ignorance a factor being that naivete is easier than absorbing information and intelligence? ... an adverse condition when living in the abyss!

Tis a dark hole we've entered with free pass ...

I don't understand why some business owners want to break the rules so much. I csn understand not wanting to check vaccine records. For a bakery not allowing eat in seems like a simple way to avoid that without a big impact on business .Customers can even come inside ans she's still complying, they just csn eat while there and need to weat masks.

Does so much appear reasonable or does irrationality take over as you don't have to learn anything of intellect or other informative stuff on how to keep the entire thing alive ... thus it goes down! The descent of the autonomous ... the theory on the unconscious psyche ...

I've been directed by a sector that it just isn't so ... the psyche that is vs that which isn't ... it didn't go well as incarnate! Happened in a flash ...

There are also directives about flashing ... deep woods blinking? Maybe just shades and shadows ... people of the green?

Unless we get vaccines out that work better, I think we need more options to help so that normal activities can be fairly safe. It would be nice to see early treatment being an options for infections. Something like treatment for anyone 70+, and then for vaccinated, treatment if 50+ with a risk factor (like hypertension, hitting the lower range for obesity), for anyone vaccinated of any age with a major risk factor, and anyone who couldn't be vaccinated.
Just my really rough suggestion, I'm sure there's better analysis on who is at risk. We need to not just look at deaths when deciding this things but long term effects, plus treatment outcomes for different populations and side effects need to factor into decisions too.

On German tv today the situation in Rumania is catastrophic. Only one third of the population is vaccinated and one of the main reasons is that the Orthodox church is not supporting it, and some priests actually spoke out against it. They showed an event where they population was lining up in front of a church to kiss the remains of a holy person- just imagine the super spreader event of hundreds of people kissing the same spot…..
They interviewed one woman who said she would only get vaccinated if the church agrees to it and another who said only if they make it mandatory.

Honestly? The world is fighting this bug with one hand behind its back as long as a mix of anti-vax, anti-preventative measures nonsense and inequitable distribution of vaccines remain prevailing conditions. I predict a major resurgence of a new strain within a year if humanity does not get its s**t together soon.

Remember this is a divined place ... when creating something out of nothing the exact opposite is required for balance ... thus the concept of abstract .... a temporal clue!

Some hard beliefs get right crotchety over going another way! Thus fixed and institutionalized moments of inertia ... and then it goes!

Except, ya know, that I sorta expect that most people have graduated high school, and that should provide some degree of critical thinking against bulls**t. It's not at all a question of veterinary versus human drugs (usually exactly the same thing, dosage variations excepted). It's having such a low level of basic scientific knowledge as to think that "de-worming" a parasite and enabling defense against a virus are even remotely similar.
I am not commenting on ivermectin per se, but on drugs that have effects in way different situations. An antidepressant is now showing signs of helping with Covid. An antidepressant? I would not have guessed.

Here’s a longer report, from a paywalled site:

Antidepressant Fluvoxamine Significantly Reduces Covid-19 Hospitalization

Past research suggests that fluvoxamine has anti-inflammatory properties, though scientists are still unsure of exactly how it works against Covid-19, said Dr. Mills. The drug may help blunt the out-of-control inflammation that can cause severe disease in Covid-19, he said.
Other antidepressants, such as fluoxetine, which has the brand name Prozac, may have similar benefits against Covid-19, but that’s still being studied, he said. Dr. Mills says he and his colleagues are starting a trial looking at the effect of fluoxetine and inhaled steroids on Covid-19.
For their trial of fluvoxamine, Dr. Mills and his colleagues looked at 1,497 patients in Brazil who had Covid-19 and at least one known risk factor for severe disease, such as diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, or being 50 years old or older. Researchers gave around half the patients fluvoxamine twice a day over 10 days while the other half received a placebo, and compared rates of hospitalization between the two groups.

I saw that too. I’ve been vaccinated but I’m 70 years old now and somewhat overweight. I’m finding that I don’t want to go out. At a Zoom chat the other one young woman with two small children said she was worried about Covid too. She suffers from asthma.

I haven’t returned to church yet. I did meet with an old friend that same age as me. But we didn’t go to a restaurant as we used to do. We got takeout and ate in the car. Why take an unnecessary chance?

I feel much the same @EasternOrthodox
I am also fully vaccinated and over the age of 65.
We are keeping our contacts to a minimum. Seeing family members primarily and doing most socialization with others outdoors.

Still don't feel any need to go to a restaurant. My church has been online since the beginning of the pandemic although this could change soon. Capacity will be limited though.

Can you believe that there are things in the medical field that we do not know ... and even more in a multitude of other fields ... while there are those following a single text get to understand everything in sum total ... integral as God?

As separate from this great intellect (wise as God) we must be autonomous! Like island folk ...

I wish everyone would take common sense precautions - but it isn't going to happen. The thought of lining up to kiss someone's remains makes me gag.

Common sense is not that well accepted .. as it is not high enough! Totally ordinary?

It may be a problem with humanity in reality ... the hubris factor!

Doesn’t sound very good to Romania. The churches are typically organized by nation. The church I belong to is for the US and Canada. They spoke in favour of vaccination. I see that the Catholics are in favour too.

Romania is a poor country. I’ve met several Romanians at my church. The situation in Romania was the worst of any eastern European country. They had very bad leadership. I’m saddened to read this,

Why are the common people poor? Is it not as transparent as a bote with a clear bottom?

People wouldn't believe it any other whey ... chez dune gone ... the Kurds remain ...
