The issue isn't lack of supply in some areas. There's a lack of buy-in and a preponderance of conspiracy theories. I have friends in GP who are quite concerned about being in that city where those attitudes are prevalent.

We have no problem just driving through or with spending the night in an RV park. We had planned to do a bit of shopping. We also have friends we want to visit. The friends aren't a concern. We are evaluating the situation and don't have to decide for a couple weeks
That's why I specified here it's the lack of supply. I don't think my subzone varies much in ideologies than the rest of the city. Chemguy went elsewhere for his, there is no mass clinic in the largest subzone in the city. There were 2 subzones in the city with the lowest rates when I looked a few days ago us and one adjacent. I think supply is the problem. Pharmacies are posting on Facebook when they have a supply and when they run out. We also d not have a hospital which may affect some of those who had the earliest eligibility, not sure if there are any long term care homes or not.

Yeah, shopping seems a bit sketchy to me too. I just started venturing in stores again. Come July, things will depend on the city and then a while after Stampede a lot of unknowns for the entire province I think.

How do conspiracy theories relate to supply? The anti-vaxx attitude and whackadoodle conspiracies would be there even if there was tons of supply. My point was that it is not supply related. It's attitude

You think this area of Edmonton has a huge number of people into whackadoodle conspiracy theories? I don't, I know there are some but I know many nore who want their vaccine doses. If it was attitude and not supply the pharmacies wouldn't keep running out. People would be able to get vaccinated easily within the subzone.

Don’t you have a central vaccination website that tells you where to go if you want to be vaccinated? We got a booking website. You put your postal code in and it tells you the nearest places and a number of appojtments you can sign up right away. If you keep scrolling down you get to further away places.
Are you expecting that you local pharmacy keeps having unlimited vaccination supplies? Considering the number of pharmacies they have to spread it out to, that seems a bit unrealistic.

I think when the sire shows the closest place is over a drive away the largest subzone in the city should probably have an AHS clinic set up. Especially considering we have had the most number of cases in the city as well.

I don't understand blaming people for not wanting it when it keeps running out.

She's not talking about Edmonton, Chemgal, she's talking about Grande Prairie where she used to live and where @GordW still serves as minister in a congregation.

i had specified this subzone though and got responded back about conspiracy theories. GP is not close to this subzone.

No. I was speaking of GP ----- Grande Prairie. (Alberta is more than Edmonton and Calgary) I have no idea what the attitudes are in Edmonton and imagine people are more reasonable there. Grande Prairie, Fort St John, BC and the region has a lot of conspiracy theorists. I've had to unfriend a couple people because of it.

I am not blaming I am stating a fact.

I have stated "GP" more than once. I have no idea how you ever thought I was talking about Edmonton. I expressed concern about the skewed provincial numbers. Edmonton and Calgary likely have decent vaccination rates. The Peace Region has low rates. I have friends there who are concerned about the province opening up with the low rates up there. I stated that before too. Did you read that? I was never ever talking about your subzone. I was talking about Alberta and thought you were as well.

Look back at the conversation. I mentioned I wasn't thrilled about the rates here, and I pointed out lack of supply seemed to be a big factor. You seemed to disagree with that.

When you said "here" I understood it to mean Alberta and I did disagree with that.

I am not clear what distance you wanted to say here, but I usually compare it to where people go shopping- here some people drive two hours into the city for shopping- I think one could expect people to be inconvenienced to do the same for something much more important. NS also has the option to provide transportation if you need it to get to a vaccination site and recently has started mobile vaccination for housebound people.

Going from a high populated area to low doesn't make sense. For me, going there would mean a medical emergency couldn't be properly dealt with in a medical facility if it was needed.

@ChemGal these are my posts. I've been very clear that I was talking about places outside the bigger centres. Part of my reaction is knowing you believe Alberta hasn't been treated as well as the rest of Canada.

And the 70% number is skewed because there is more buy-in in the larger centres in AB. I suspect that's similar in other provinces. I know friends in GP are concerned about the opening because their vaccine rate is around 50% . We were going to spend a night or two in AB on our way east. We're rethinking that and may just wait and see how it plays out.

Some great news for cases - down to 60 new cases for Alberta. Getting it down to the low 100s was a good drop off, less than 100 in a day hasn't been seen for quite some time. Probably around the time the school year started.
Fingers crossed that July doesn't cause a quick rise.

Mask Bylaws - Edmonton to be discussed on Tuesday, currently it's in place until the end of the year unless they change that.
St Albert )near Edmonton) - no bylaw in place, they took it out when the provincial law came in. They do not plan to reinstate it, but will be watching numbers carefully and may implement it if they feel the province is too slow to reintroduce it if numbers creep up.
Calgary - In place until July 5. To be reexamined then. Stampede is planning on moving forward with the expectation a mask bylaw will be in place for indoors.

The last health update - I am confused about the mask law come July. Mandatory mmaskking won't be 100% dropped by the province, but the exceptions where it will be in place are murky.

Edmonton is going with Calgary - mask bylaw in place until July 5. That should help a fair bit with 2nd doses kicking in at least.
