I had a rough afternoon. Went back to the old guys place to try and sort out the music, and other stuff. I am so grateful for friends. Blondie and The Man of Many Colours arrived with truck, dolly, plans. I dragged home a backseat full of music to deliver to their house for sorting/inventorying. There's probably another truckful. And I brought home a bunch of other stuff. A lifetime of address books, a nice Marley plaque for my daughter, some wind chimes to add to my collection. Like I need more stuff, oh dear.

Kimmio, I'm glad you're okay. Please be careful. This is where some CBD tincture might help you with dealing with any post-fall muscle soreness.

Sorry for your rough afternoon Bette. Sorting through stuff is always hard. I am glad friends were along to assist

used record stores buy up old vinyl but some of it is really valuable, so don’t randomly discard it.

Good morning, all! As the weekend is here, and we ponder recovery from injuries, and sorting out the stuff left behind by loved ones, let us gather round the table for hot caffeinated beverages and camaraderie.

This will be my income tax weekend. Shouldn’t be too difficult as there are only donations, medical expenses and professional dues to gather.

Good luck with the income tax. I did ours a couple weeks ago and my husband got his return back. I had to pay...income splitting sure helps though! Bette...sorry about your rough afternoon. And, so good to hear from Kimmio. Lots of sun here. Looking forward to a day of increasing exercise, but maybe not outside! yet.

It's a lovely spring day here. Husband went and got potting soil, so going to pot up my canna lilies. First time that i have done so, got some given to me last year.

I'm enjoying the learning of gardening, the understanding of what likes what, and learning about what will work where.
It is a fun challenge which is accessible to most, and has so many layers.

I find myself outside in the morning, coffee in hand, looking for signs of life and greening. It is good to be moving and getting fresh air. I know many of you have learned to be active in winter , but, that hasn't been something that i have been successful at yet. (no excuses, jsut awareness of growth opportunity)

I've been busy with church these days, some opportunities presented that i agreed to be a part of, and hoping that the investment pays off with better systems for everyone.

This is not vinyl. This is all bootleg music. Recordings of live concerts, audio and video, on VHS tape, on cassette tape, on CD, on DVD. There's an underground of people recording concerts and trading them around. (It really took off with the "Deadheads".) They take it very seriously. Example: he and I went to see Steve Earle in Kingston a few years ago. Less than a week after we had seen it, Dave had a CD of the entire concert, good quality sound, recorded by someone in the audience.

Some are, some aren't. That's why it's underground. The Grateful Dead actively encouraged it.

One of the treasures we found were a few "Deadbases" - lists of all the concerts and all the dates, and the playlist from each concert.

But there's absolutely an ethic about it. The only money that changes hands is an accurate calculation of "blanks and postage".

And they're not really interested in the kind of bands that get up and do the same "greatest hits" set every show.

They tend to be attracted to more jam-type bands, that area where rock meets blues meets jazz. The Dead, Allman Brothers Band, Government Mule, sometimes local jam bands. Somewhere here I have a recording of a couple of sets we heard on a boat out of Penetanguishene with a local-ish band called Caution Jam.

Recording songs or whole concerts on your phone and posting the video to YouTube or Instagram is a thing, but the quality usually sucks. The serious stuff like you talk about is another whole thing, though I have seen those leak on to YouTube at times, too, likely not with the bootleggers permission.

Agreed. This is intended to be, and stay, underground. I know some of the places, thanks to his on-line address book (a .doc file that always sat on my desktop in a folder with his name on it it), but I would never share. And the reason I want to preserve as much of this as I can is to preserve his legacy in their communities.

Good Morning? (stretch yawn) As we think about music, and its distribution underground and otherwise, ad as many of us deal with the DST blues, let us stumble our way near the coffee cart and find coffee to help, and tea in time of need, to paraphrase that phrase from the letter to the Hebrews.

Happy Daylight Savingstime! I actually do not like DST and hope it will be changed eventually.
But that explains, why Red is not here yet with the coffee cart. Sleeping in. Tomorrow will be the day with the highest risk for accidents and such. Oh well. I am heating up the cold coffee from yesterday.

Can that be rephrased without being declared un constitutional as virtue ... thus truth is ruled out!

And the Dei -ite rides on against the nite ... Lord as disagreeable in the losing as in the wind sum ... adds up to nothing as my grandfather stated!

If you tumble there ... something will come of it! Ancient crones will giggle in the shades ...

DST. To confuse children and pets and make us remember how to change times on all the silly clocks on all the appliances and vehicles

coffee smells great
