If anything...many of our immune problems over time come from too much sugar in processed foods. Speaking of prevention. Should poor parents be punished further for not affording healthier options?

Mississippi has the highest vaccination rate in the US. That said they also have the highest infant mortality and low weight infants rate in the country. They also have the second highest rate of childhood poverty in the country. The residents of Mississippi are the unhealthiest in the country. 99.7% of the states kindergarteners are vaccinated because of their strict mandatory vaccination program that lacks loopholes. In this state public health trumps parental choice.

It seems contradictory that "public health trumps parental choice" for vaccinations,while at the same time infant mortality and childhood poverty don't seem to have the same precedent, but hey, a state of poor children will make an excellent barometer for tracking any blips in the vaccine.

What happens when people can't afford to pay the fines or shoulder the financial burden of the illnesses ... they usually go to jail and their children are taken by the state.
That sounds like sound justice - if not compassion. What about those who are unable to afford said fines and financial burdens.

(that's annoying...what if I said no look it up yourself everybody knows high sugar is bad for us and it's in everything - processed foods in very high amounts - but we're making conversation here. Why is the first response to my posts to react like I'm a 5 year old or an idiot)

We can start with the knowledge that big sugar really doesn't want us to know the harm it causes (and neither do drug companies always want us to know what they're up to - sounds like they're peas in a pod - the more we're addicted to sugar and sick the more they make. What would happen if we actually stopped being addicted and sick? If we were all well at least one billion dollar industry goes under. Think about it.)

I have memories of these diseases too. I had measles and chicken pox. My children all had chicken pox.
Your neighbour more than likely had "German Measles" or Rubella which is basically benign, the exception are pregnant women within the first 3 months of pregnancy. Although Rubella (German measles) and Rubeola (the common measles) have similar symptoms, they are not the same virus. Did she not have the Rubella vaccine?
I am not against vaccinations per se, I AM against.... one sided information, a company that has exclusive government rights to produce the vaccines with immunity and the vaccine makers conducting their own tests for efficacy. It's a recipe for abusing the publics trust and fears, IMO AND who's to say that they would be honest in their self assessments?
Ah yes, the old conspiracy theory argument. Someone should invent a law, like godwins law, that it can't be used during a legitimate discussion.
It has to do with overall health and immunity. Overall...we eat too much sugar. Sugar is linked to increase in many diseases and lowered immunity. Drug companies have that covered with drugs. But what if they actually lowered sugar in foods, lowered the need for so many drugs and vaccines? What would happen to them? They'd put themselves out of work if they stopped many diseases. They don't want to cure they'd rather treat. It's math. Read the CBC and Mother Jones articles. Not conspiracies.

That has nothing to do with sugar consumption

So you are in favor of people deciding to not vaccinate then?
I'm not saying kids should never get chicken pox vaccine but maybe they need to fill in the gaps like investigating the rise in adult shingles before flooding the market with the vaccine.
Overall health (even cancer risk) does have to do with sugar consumption. Yes, we should choose what we eat. Would be great if many everyday affordable choices weren't so packed with hidden sugar.
