TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

In our society criminals are heroes ... just look at the celebrity status and how many are found to descend abruptly!

Mass hysteria and hype supports this over hypo ... we love radical excitability! Leads to exit ...

There is said to be joy in the lord .. yet I look at god's choice as the trump card ... and does he look happy where the entire situation put heh?

Thus the nemesis ... strikes homo ... and sapient splashed ... the tree myth is deep into what runs there ... Oh*limby (derived from limbic systems and isolated in a' leif, א ... may be generally unknown)? Literacy in the entire flood of signs and icons ... is ironically overwhelming in the mortal state ... imagine stellar vessels!

The problem is, even Hitler had a high “approval rating”. Putin’s high approval rating doesn’t make him less callous and corrupt, unfortunately.
Agreed, but if he could win an unrigged election, we would have to accept that result. That's democracy, like it or not. In Putin's case, his attacks on the opposition and dubious fairness of the elections is the problem. If he won fair and square, then that just means the Russians are okay with callous and corrupt. Or at least enough of them to win an election.

But it’s not okay. There has to be some objective agreed upon truth, like “Murderous tyranny toward marginized groups is grounds for disqualification, because that itself negates the whole purpose of living in a democracy.“ If certain groups are tyrannized just for existing, they are not being given fair opportunity to begin with. There have to be some positions that are agreed upon non-starters.

Corruption is just orthodox in many perspectives ... with only the limitation that "U" win!

Then there is the question of character assassination's ... are these absolute schemes or abstract ... only in mind? Te duality is unbelievable to those that only believe in determinates ... that that is settled! These settled things may roam the bowels of the earth for some time wondering how all this dirt come down here ... Divine Comedy?

Do comedies have two sides toem? Imagine laughter out of kilter ... may knock one down ... nemesis? A cure for radical pride ...

Beneath this ... wrinkles and ripples ...

But, if he could manipulate the US election with all sorts of tricks and trolls, he could manipulate the election in his own country. He was a top KGB guy.

This is a problem. Empathy and caring, justice, equality...doesn’t even factor in to those perspectives, if winning is all there is.

Ideally ... if you don't know much ... would you care? It could be a front of one type or alternate!

Allows a dissertation or communication connecting emotions with intelligence ... some brutes wouldn't care to feel that way .. thus the club!

Let us bash our way thro' ET!

Psychopathy???? Could this be in the denial and diminishing of psyche? Thus we loose that essence ... all in the demands of gross desires ...

Can you think of any party or organizations that would diminish and slaughter democracy?

It is considered unnecessary under winning rules ... a roué set is ... accept the satyr as a small jouster ...

THat's why I put the condition "if it was an unrigged election" because it is quite certain Russian elections have been rigged, including by putting the opposition in jail.

Which is why democracies like ours have things like the charter of rights and an independent court system to interpret that charter. It helps avoid tyranny of the majority. But there are limits to how far we can go in forcing our system and ideas on other countries and long haul, may have to live with the reality that not every nation will be a constitutional monarchy or constitutional republic.

China, for instance, if it ever democratizes, will likely look more like Singapore than Canada. An elected legislature but still strong "rule of law" and somewhat authoritarian presidency.

I think that there’s probably a considerable amount of political apathy, or fatigue in Russia. Many living in oppressive conditions who haven’t felt their voices made any difference for so long, they just accept it, stop paying close attention, and don’t bother to try to change it. That doesn’t make it okay. But I think that’s part of the problem.

Sure. The far right wing conservatives and republicans, have practically made demonizing the UN into a sport. As they’ve done with journalism, or any institutions that hold the powerful to account, that support agreed upon universal truths for the greater good of everyone on the planet. They ultimately hate democracy but they will use it to get into power.

Yet will the tyrants declare such items as corrupt? Depends on the position .. whether radically esteemed or humbled ... some cannot be humbled due to lack of sensitivity and feeling ... especially if you don't feel that way ...

Unfortunately, the UN has some serious problems and I am not even convinced of its value as a body for promoting democracy and human rights anymore. When Saudi Arabia can get on the human rights body, that's not a good sign in my book.

And the security council has been a joke for decades. Any attempt to do anything that will look like "promoting democracy or human rights" will get vetoed, sometimes by the US.

Well, the UN is non binding. It’s voluntary. And the only good, therefore, that I can see in keeping even corrupt countries at the table, is they might learn to do something better.

I don’t approve of throwing out the baby with the bath water because there are some problems that need addressing. It’s the best we’ve got. Its principles make sense even if they are not lived up to by everyone all the time. It’s something to improve upon. The push to dismiss it is mostly coming from those on the right in “western” countries - so I’d be wary of that. It’s the same thing that they do to journalism. Try to discredit it and then leave a big void of corruption and misinformation in its place.

Oh, I'm not writing it off, just keep my expectations low. The fact is, reforming the UN would require the superpowers to give up their vetoes. As long as a single objecting country can basically shut down any UN action, the UN will be purely a body for discussion and negotiation. And maybe that is how it should be. But it also means that countries can pretty much do as they please so long as they keep at least one of the big 5 happy. Look at South Africa. Many nations, including us, were trying to fight apartheid in the General Assembly but the US and UK made sure no action happened at the Security Council until it became obvious that position was no longer tenable.
