We are special needs folk ... that'll have pssss'd of the norms or those that hold the BS that they are normal ... no such thing ... God says: "you are all uniquely and independently made!" If for nothing else than to amuse those out there ... watching the games of competition! They can get extreme ... like polity!

These various accrediting agencies worry me. I'm currently relying heavily on a drug that the NHS and Health Canada are totally cool with, but the FDA won't approve, due to non-melanoma cancer concerns.
 
Germany has published the stages of who is getting vaccinated with priority. First group is people over 80 and hospital medical staff. Second stage is people over 70 , people with dementia, homeless, people who have transplants, people with down syndrome and caregiver. Third group will be teacher, people over 60, with chronic diseases,daycare staff and people in public jobs- police, fire department, MPs, and staff working in retail. After that comes everybody else.
The association of family doctors has protested that they are not part of any of those categories.
 
With a country like Germany, the distance / zones of infection are less of a factor than in Canada.
I think each country needs to take into account their specific distribution, infection & deaths.

I am thankful that there are those who are responding to conditions, trying to look ahead, working on public attitude, and just helping us to learn.
 
There is much to learn although some authorities are restricted here due to their BS that they have God in hand! That's all folk ...
 
The latest estimate of total people vaccinated, by the end of January with the two vaccines, 450,000. Out of approximately 35,000,000. 0.1%. How is this being presented as good news? Where are the vaccines? Virtually all of southern Ontario and major Alberta cities will be in lock down. What the hell . How is Trudeau not getting raked over the coals for this
 
No. The blame is his. They didn’t buy. They lined up with China. Till China said get lost. Then they scrambled

as a comparison. Our family in croatia is able to make appointments. A country of 5 million has 400,000 doses on the ground. We will have 450,000 in a month for a country seven times bigger
 
Actually I just saw that Canada bought more per capita than other countries. Plus, some of the vials they received have more doses than typical so we've gotten more than expected

Contracted for more. Most of what we are contracted to buy isn't approved yet, hence our current low supply. That said, only the US has two approved vaccines at the moment and Moderna just started rolling out.
 
We have to continue to be patient ... getting embroiled in blame gaming just isn't helpful IMO. Personally, I try to hold true to my spirit of believing most people will do the best they can in most situations with the information available at that moment in time. A moment later, info can change - that's life. Others don't agree, I realize. But I'm not going down that road.
 
I agree that we do need to be positive. But here we are. In lock down. No plans other than by the end of September people will be vaccinated. 10 months away. The government dropped the ball and all they have to offer is wear your mask and be locked down

Then when two weeks ago it was suddenly apparent that they had no vaccines coming, remember trudeau saying other countries would be first because we didn’t make it. When in fact everyone is getting shipments from Brussels. Then suddenly was a big push to get something. So 125,000 people will get vaccinated shortly.

and they are pouring money into a facility in Montreal to upgrade it to make vaccine when the building right beside is a vaccine producer. Who contacted the government to offer to help. No thanks. We got China on board!

little countries like Croatia don’t make the vaccine. They buy it from Brussels who send it over

and trudeau is skating on this. Crap. A two day delay in the USA rollout has the general in charge taking the public blame and promising better. And trudeau is proud of our 250,000 doses
 
I imagine that in isolated parts of Canada, the medics will only visit once... No it has to be twice, don’t they all require two shots, about a month apart?

The one that needs to be stored at a very cold temperature... maybe that will be used in fairly large cities. I think that hospitals do have suitable freezers. I can’t see that in rural areas or small town.

News this morning of a significant mutation in the UK. Some countries have stopped flights from the UK.

Apparently it is cosiderably more contagious but not worse as a disease. News as of now is that the vaccines should still work.

I read that the messenger RNA ones are easy to modify.

Hope everyone is managing. I’ve been out once in that few months, and that was for a medical appointment. Aged 69.

Ideally, everyone healthy enough for the vaccine would get it, leaving just a few who are unable to take it for medical reasons. They‘d be safe then.

But there is a large group who have no medical problem but are going to refuse it, for various reasons. I’m not actually sure what the reasons are, But it is about 30% of the population.

Absolutely. They can’t follow some complex set of priorities if the areas are remote and expensive to reach.

Not in lockdown here. I've seen lockdown (wasn't in it myself) - this isn't it. Dr. Hinshaw isn't calling this lockdown either.

I think it's really difficult to estimate right now. With healthcare workers it does seem like many who were hesitant are stepping up after seeing others getting it. I do feel a bit better as people with HAE have gotten it without attacks (although they tend to be less effected, well enough to work in healthcare, don't normally have issues with vaccines, etc). For me with the risk/benefit, if the risks are similar with other vaccines a few days of HAE attacks of their typical severity is worth it as the COVID risk itself is so high. If people who don't normally have issues with vaccines were having issues, then I would be much more concerned what it would be like for me, I plan to keep checking in.

The big issue will likely be with other illnesses - communities where vaccination rates are low. Hopefully most of the general population will be better, we had great flu vaccine turnout this year.
