ChemGal....You made me laugh. Little boys like to shock, I think. I have two grandsons, and one on the way in May, so I should be used to this. (I don't remember my own boys going through this stage though). But the May grandson will be raised Francophone so I will need to brush up on French potty talk! I asked my husband for a cd to learn French; not sure that potty talk will be part of the program!

Good morning! As we ponder the antics of little children, that will one day become great stories to tell, let us gather in spirit around the coffee cart, where all things are ready.

I'm feeling frustrated with how much of all of the issues with COVID are being presented as dichotomies, extremes.
We need to have everything open, we need to lockdown. The loud voices aren't calling for a good, balanced approach (and labelling balanced approaches as such).
We need to delete 3rd party delivery/pickup restaurant apps because they take away from the restaurants. Not we should consider what the restaurants prefer and what options are available. Heck some places don't offer delivery, does that mean people in isolation shouldn't be able to use their favourite restaurant during a stressful time because they must shun Skip, UberEats, etc.?
Vaccines are totally safe or death traps. Not hey, they seem to be safe for most of the population but there are legitimate concerns, especially regarding particular populations.
Churches must close to love thy neighbour - not keep some programs running like working with food banks and streaming services from the church.
Got a risk factor? Better just stay the f- home. Cuz you know, there aren't legitimate reasons for people with health conditions to leave their homes.
Plenty others I'm sure.

It's tough. I was watching the BC update today and felt a bunch of emotions. They were talking about vaccine. Dr Henry was quite cheerful as would be expected. Apparently the Pfizer vaccine may not be appropriate for people who are immunocompromised. They listed off the guestimated time-line and that made me think of the summer. I sure hope we can be on the road this summer.

I really need to take this one day at a time.

Good morning, all! The coffee cart is up and running, to help facilitate civil conversation about vaccines, shutdowns, restaurant delivery services, etc. Meteor showers may enter into it all, too.

Sounds good to this compromised, autonomously disseminated person!

If you go off on your own is that disseminate NG?

I do it because of the vast mass of folks that would rather not know something ... preferably nothing ... and then state everybody does it ... because in their perspective they are everybody? Doesn't that trumpet all ... thus the blast ... it comes from the fallout after ideas of naivete! That's close to stew PID (primal identification)!

Rings of an isolated person with god in their head confined and no room for intelligence ... entrained hot Eire is bound to rise up ... that's Eris in all her mysterious state countering Eros ... with a vast a' gap eh boies!

And the night was dark and the sky was blew ... full of holes? Zingers ...

Does anybody knows something about Sunday’s meteor showers? Would we see it in Canada?
For me, watching meteor showers is a summer time thing - too chilly to lie in wait in the dark countryside in December! My mate was mentioning something about "the great conjunction" of Saturn & Jupiter on Dec 21 - the winter solstice :-) Might wander out to see that if the sky is clear. https://earthsky.org/astronomy-essentials/great-jupiter-saturn-conjunction-dec-21-2020#:~:text=Astronomers%20use%20the%20word%20conjunction,objects%20on%20our%20sky's%20dome.&text=The%20next%20great%20conjunction%20of,was%20in%20the%20year%202000.

I read somewhere it's the dawning of the Age of Aquarius....cue the fringe vest and beads.

A milder day today. Which was nice. Except the gravel road is now a soupy mess. Dog and me covered in spatter from walking. You just can’t win with winter weather

in up news, we ordered three turkeys. Will drop them in Toronto for the kids to cook themselves along with gifts

and really big news. I have a new bird at my feeder. A Pine Grossbeak. Look him up. Big like a blue jay, coloured like a purple finch. But because he is so big really looks quite pink

Hello wonderfriends,
These days are very busy for me, just a shade from totally overwhelming.
I have accepted an OT job in Haliburton County ONT starting in Feb. It is a chance to finish off my career in my hometown and help out and spend time with my folks, and my older sister. Mom is 88 Dad is 90 and Dad has early Alzheimers.
So as I work I am getting rid of clutter so pictures of house can be taken and it listed.
Meanwhile my 25 year old is moving in with 2 other guys- a positive move but I am driving him and his stuff up there.
My dishwasher stopped working Mon. but my 30 year old will fix it tomorrow and put the roof racks and tow hitch on my new to me car bought in Sept. It is a sub compact eco-sport.
Miss everyone but I really wont have time for WC theses days.
Wishing every one a wonderful Holiday- Christmas or whatever you celebrate.

Congratulations on accepting the job. Haliburton Highlands is such a beautiful area. I'm sure you'll love it there.

Good to hear from you, Tabitha, and happy Holidays to you, too. Isn’t it great to have a mechanic in the family when you need one. Take care of yourself- looking after elderly parents is no easy task.

Good morning, all, as we contemplate moving and holidays and relocation, let us pause for a few moments around the coffee cart, Water is hot and coffee is brewed. Enjoy.

Thanks. I just got a shipment of a jar of apple butter from Mennonite country in Ontario. This is a real treat since it's something that appears to be unique to Waterloo County in Ontario. Do others have it where they are? None to be had locally.
Anyway, I'm sharing. Setting out a tray of buttered, home made grainy bread, some sharp cheese and the apple butter.

I have always understood it to be a SW Ontario Mennonite thing. I've only ever had it in Kitchener back in my days of growing up there, to be sure.

Nice. Congratulations. I wouldn't mind retiring up there myself but it is probably too far from civilization (meaning good Asian groceries) for Mrs. M. Certainly, my aunt and uncle like it up there (they moved up there from Toronto after retirement).
