The mature mode of action:

Take reasonable precautions, practice good hygiene, boost your immune system.

If you are not among the susceptible elderly and have no critical pre-existing conditions, and are not especially overweight, you should go about your (unmasked) everyday life as usual and mind your own business without interference.

Have the courage to resist coercion.

Do not succumb to the persuasive force of the 'lockdown propaganda'.

Support the growing number of marches for freedom from political medical tyranny.

Lobby governments to reverse and mitigate the “greatest policy error of this generation”.

As Orwell wrote in his Introduction to Animal Farm, “If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.”

The 'lockdown strategy' is an epidemiological cul de sac and a universal failure.

Again Rita, how would you handle this pandemic?

In Winnipeg we have a multitude of “Dollar” stores. In every one there is a large candy aisle. This permitted by law even though sugar used in excess is a contributing source of disease. Another major corporate contributer is Coca Cola. They sell sugar water to young and old. This by the influence of advertising stating “Coke Adds Life”.
The small town I live in has at least the equivalent of four aisles of sugar/chemical laden food like substances in the three grocery stores. Cereals coated in sugar or sweetener, candies, snacks such as chips, baked sweet things are before my eyes in every direction. Granola bars that are actually candy, fruit roll ups without real fruit ,cookies and pies. Coke, Pepsi etc. in abundance. Want fresh fruit and veg? One short aisle is offered for your appetite.

Just one aisle of fruit and vegetables? Ugh. I have been in stores like that but wouldn't want to rely on them for anything other than dry goods. To me, a good grocery store should be 1/4 to 1/3 produce. Most of the bigger grocery stores around here, esp. the Asian ones, fill that bill.

And, to be honest, as an adult, I have never had much trouble resisting the blandishments of the sweet aisle even before my diagnosis of diabetes (we won't talk about the snack bar at work but that went away even before COVID). Admittedly, marrying a Chinese woman probably helps. They don't have the tradition of baking and desserts that we do. For them, desserts and snacks are usually fruit, nuts, and such.

Again Rita, how would you handle this pandemic?

I am handling it by not allowing myself to fall into the insanity of it.
I am handling it by supporting ... in whatever way I can ... resistance to unjustifiable medical tyranny.
I am handling it by not allowing myself to become apathetically compliant.
I am handling it by being cognizant of what is important and what is not.
I am handling it by not concerning myself with the 'case demics'.
I am handling it by staying respectfully 'distanced' physically from any and all that are afraid of me being responsibly free.
I am handling it by not being narrow minded when it comes to the debate around the way to handle it 'collectively'.
I am handling it by not resting easy in my 'comfortable' situation without compassion for those less fortunate.
I am handling it by acknowledging that I have the responsibility to govern myself in accordance with the common good.
I am handling it by not claiming the authority to give orders or enforce orders.
I am handling it by claiming the authority to make up my own mind based on evidence.
I am handling it by advocating against compliance with unjustifiably enforced restrictions.
I am handling it by keeping the serenity prayer in mind as much as I am able.

Well that sounds good....glad youre not in a position of authority though where decisions have to be made. Carry on.

Yeah to hell with people who are vulnerable or old. What constitutes a "critical" pre-existing condition? It seems that people who have "mundane" underlying conditions can be vulnerable. Seemingly healthy people going about their business unmasked is part of the reason for the exploding numbers. Hell, a hospital in your province is overwhelmed by people who are sick with covid. But having to wear a mask or practice good infection control measures is tyranny.

It is compulsory. When compulsory is in play freedom is at risk. Those who value freedom are suspicious of compulsory.

Our governments, democratically authorized, have overseen the infection of pollutants destructive of healthy water and healthy air. This has created a context highly vulnerable to disease and death. History may reveal that the Corona Virus is a consequence of pollution.

Why were no health protocols enforced? From my perspective, our governments, and those who authorized them, gave in to the demands of corporate power.

Right use of creation brings benefit. Misuse of creation brings harm. Abuse of creation brings danger. The law of cause and effect by which we are actually governed.

So how do you feel about things like compulsory seat belt use or "no shirt no service" laws?

If people used the sense god gave them we wouldn't need compulsory.

How are they being helped by locking them away in institutions where they are being neglected and suffering to death alone?
Well I think that was going on waaay before Covid ever came on the scene....families don't seam to keep Mom and Dad with them since the 60s or 70s.
I've see it, depression was rampant after their home is sold and they are put in these facilities....it was always there.

How are they being helped by locking them away in institutions where they are being neglected and suffering to death alone?

The flaws of longterm care and the catastrophes that have happened there since this pandemic started are horrific. The optimistic side of me thinks we will improve the care because we've learned from this. My cynical side says that's not likely.

"Protecting" older people and vulnerable people so "healthy" people can go about their lives is equally dangerous and foolish. There is a middle-ground solution. Life is not either/or.

I'd also like you to answer the question I asked upthread. What is a "critical" pre-existing condition?

Looks like we're not learning......some of the worst offending care facilities during this pandemic are being rewarded with more beds!

I disagree with any compulsory means. Were we all educated to express citizenship, there would be no need for compulsion. Sad to say, our Western Social Economy has neglected this education and preferred socialization to conformity by the jurisdiction of rules.
