Sorry to hear about his illness. Don’t give up on him yet though. Dogs are pretty resilient partly because they have no concept of grief and worry. So if he is elk fed and cared for and loved he can keep going

Good morning, all! The coffee cart is ready. C'mon in and enjoy.

I'm sipping on my second coffee ... it's a dreary day here, raining off & on - which I will not complain about after the summer drought - the earth is thirsty & needs replenishment. Coffee is late, because I got up early today & went to the local grocery store pharmacy to get flu shot - so that's checked off the list. It was a bit tricky to find somewhere with the senior's dose available - even higher demand this year I guess. I planted my AeroGarden this morning too - so I'm looking forward to harvesting fresh herbs all winter. Cdn Tire recently had them on a 50% off sale, so we got one for ourselves and one as a belated birthday gift for our son. We are also planning to use one of our other grow lights to try growing some salad greens indoors this winter - gotta find something to keep the mind occupied! Have a good day all!

hey carolla, any chance you can start a thread on the new garden thing you bought, and keep us posted.
I am interested in learning, but, don't want to consume room for all

Grey and rainy here.

Ditto. I'm off work now until Tuesday. Wrote a short poem (for the comp on my writing site). Saw a dental surgeon (which may generate a thread later). Had some nice shrimp dumplings for lunch. I'll have to use my stationary bike today after three consecutive days of outdoor walking.

Why does that make me think it looks like you are working on a Covid vaccine.....

Wrote a short poem (for the comp on my writing site).
Which is now up for your reading pleasure. And fits in nicely here on WC2, I think.

My Temple

Why does that make me think it looks like you are working on a Covid vaccine.....

Ah, but who is behind it? What sinister forces are backing her vaccine research? Could it be ... Bill Gates!:devil:

Good morning, all! The coffee cart is up and running. Maybe someday we could do a coffeehouse, with poetry reading. Let me know id any interest.

Great idea about the Coffeehouse. I suggest @Mendalla as Poet In Residence, and should read his poem. I seem to drain those coffees pretty quickly, but here, I can have a third cup. Looks a bit overcast today, but not cold. Yesterday was sunny and 20c

Today is a church volunteer day.

Setting council agenda
Prepping package for distribution
Setting upeetings
All are easy, but the time adds up

Plus going to the bank to become a signatory. Process delayed from March due to covid . Good to get it done

Plus start the walk on an ongoing challenge re reporting of numbers Nd lack of trust in financials. Valid lack: poor processes resulted in errors in accounts used

Finally, get a records check. I live in an area covered by OPP. The process was centralized under covid. I submitted request in July. Followed up, told 4-6 weeks wait. Followed up in August told still waiting. End of august, got a request for a letter from the church. Sent it 2 days later. Followed up through September, no response. Followed up last week again, got a response that process had moved back to the local detachment. Got through on Wednesday to them and they advised there had been problems, looked for mine and advised it was lost. Now this records check is required for a submission to help bring a refugee family here. I was nice but disappointed. The guy asked me to hold for a moment, and gave me an appointment and committed to doing it while i wait! Hopefully will get it done today

Actually, if you to the poem, then click on my user name to get my profile and go to the Stories section, there's some other poems in there. Not sure how one "reads" a poem on a forum but you can imagine a talking gorilla reciting it if you like (Think General Ursus from Beneath the Planet of the Apes but in Cornelius's costume. I think you're geeky enough to get that reference.)

Maybe another room? Anyway, this is a poem I read recently that spoke to me profoundly. Neat thing is, I read his work long ago as a teenager and have rediscovered it. Youtube has some poetry readings.

I like Gibran. Have used him in UU services the odd time. Mystical without being too overtly "religious" so even the humanists can get something out of him at times. The Persian Muslim poet Rumi seems to hit that sweet spot a lot, too, though I'm not as into him.

Woohoo - it's women's euchre night in my world! So great to 'get together' with my pals. We gather for about 30-40 min on zoom to begin & catch up on news; then we go to using the Trickster Cards app (which also has video & audio connection) - two tables & the computer fills in for anybody missing. Then after a couple of games we come back together on zoom for a good night wrap up :) So I 'dressed up' and actually put on make-up and earrings! LOL Wishing everyone a good Friday night and pleasant weekend.
