Rita, can you give me a contemporary example of a form of community that exists outside of any government?

I'm gonna make the observation that there may be a few left in isolated areas of the Amazon, for instance, but I'm further going to bet that none of these "ungoverned" communities exceed about 150 persons in total. That's the number that author Malcolm Gladwell has identified as the limits before some sort of system of "governing" comes into play, not necessarily written down, but properly orally recorded by story.

Here is Sam Seder having this discussion with a libertarian caller the other day. They drive me nuts, because they have no idea how things would come together, and if they did, it would be a "government" with "laws". It would have to be.

Just saw that. My first thought is that it's a scam/hoax. How conveeeeenient. He'll surface having "beat covid".....just a cold.....
And he will have been able to get the sympathy of his solid fan base. I worry about Melania, too.

But imagine if he gets really sick, hospitalized. Then Pence takes over temporarily. But then what about the election. does it go ahead if one of the people running is currently incapacitated?
 
I can imagine he's confident enough of his base to bypass the travel. He's all about showmanship and drama. Forgive me if I'm wrong. I will feel terrible if that's the case, but the strategy seems clear IMO.
 
Of course even funnier would be Pence takes over, gets the virus , is hospitalized, and Pelosi is next in line!

still wondering if this will do something to the election if he gets very ill. I mean can you vote for a president in a coma?

I thought that, too. It also excuses him from more embarrassing debates, instead he can resort to twitter from the livingroom.
