Conspiracies, What Are They ?

That's hysterical.

It does though, explain a lot. No wonder it has become more difficult to discuss with you.

Omg yeah. Very confusing.

So @Ritafee, it sounds like you're...resentful of Northwind? You know she is a good person, like you, and isn't trying to harm you? You do know we all are going through intense stress of a level unforseen? So people would want some form of control and calm in this frenzied world around us?

Take pity on us poor simple souls lol

Or, gently, there is a great deal of empathy for Rita's personal position regarding childhood vaccinations. It is tragic that a side effect of saving thousands of children from death or permanent disability causes an unforeseeable bad reaction in one or two. However, when every conversation medical somehow goes back to a universal condemnation of ALL vaccinations as an inherent, blatant, and terrible violation of the human rights of all of humanity, well, we end up here.
Good call.

I think Rita has pointed out the issues with mandatory vaccinations for ALL? Which includes any social power changes that may come with it? Like a potential new underclass.

Wow ... use of exaggeration to create a more exciting story much?

Exaggeration is a representation of something in an excessive manner.

There are several different ways humans use exaggeration to benefit them in manipulating others into doing there bidding.

If the real events of the day are boring one can always punch it up a bit.

Event: a car driving 55 mph stops at a stop sign and turns right.

Exaggeration: A car Driving 200 mph blows through 15 stop signs, hits a school bus full of children sets off a series of explosions that grow and grow until the very fabric of time and space is altered and the whole scene is at rest as if nothing had happened.

Exaggeration a tool of the human to manipulate, inflate and sometime entertainer-ate .. use it wisely...

Good Call. Pandemics and Mandatory Vaccination ... one does not have to be a conspiracy theorist to understand the connection.

I do not believe we are heading towards mandatory vaccinations. Past attempts to make vaccines mandatory have fallen flat. There was concerted effort to mandate flu vaccines for health workers. It was met with opposition on many levels. It was not successful and many health authorities use education to encourage more people to get the flu vaccine.

There are many good reasons why vaccines should not and cannot be mandated.

I do not believe that Bill Gates is part of some big plot to impose vaccines on people or to plant microchips. There is a difference between making vaccines more available and mandating them.

I'm glad we are in a (hopefully) post-colonial world. Colonialism has caused many big problems.

I an concerned about what policies will move forward while we are distracted by the pandemic or protests. Alberta has pushed through a couple that are concerning. I'm sure they are not alone.

I am not resentful of Northwind. I admire her more than I resent her. We are all good people as far as I am concerned. That I am concerned about mandatory vaccination is constantly relegated to conspiracy theory in this forum. Every time I bring it up I am disqualified from the discussion. For me it is symbolic of the absolute control over every living soul that LC speaks of in 'The Future'.

In recent years, it must be underlined that a process in some legislatures has been introduced to enforce various forms of vaccination coercion.

Vaccine 'refusers' or conscious resisters are being met with what pro-vaccinators may perceive as a 'duty' ('coercion') to force authorities to violate the principle of autonomy and restrict individuals' freedoms regarding their own body making it a social 'obligation' to be vaccinated.

Administrative decisions imposing vaccinations, solutions conditioning social existence and financial penalties for not complying with this 'obligation' are well under way ... those who can afford to pay the financial penalties to waive their 'obligation' will continue to do so ... those who cannot ... will be bent over one way or another ... some call it democracy ... some call it the banality of evil ... some call it mob rule ... some call it herd mentality ... no matter what you call it ... I tend to agree with the prophets on this one.

Well he has come right out and said it more than once in public ... and he has all the ducks in a row to go ahead with it ... the patents and the investments that provide his 'bankroll' would suggest otherwise ... but hey WHO has time to investigate that ... much better to ignore the signs ... keep in mind what you are calling a 'big plot' may be to him 'best intentions'.

I am concerned about the trend these to dismiss "Mainstream Media" as being fake or only out to control a particular message. Good journalism can hold the powers that be accountable. Dismissing all media silences that critical eye/voice.

We need good journalism, credible professional journalists. The problem is that the advertisers and funders can and have put pressure on editors to control the message. For example, when CBC sat on the "NS shooter possible informant" story by Maclean's, let it die down, then reported statements by the RCMP sort of brushing it off as nonsense - that was eyebrow raising to me. Both are credible sources; while Maclean's is independent, and CBC isn't entirely - and CBC has a lot more money. Something's weird with that because I don't think an independent magazine with high marks for investigative journalism, would risk their reputation to put out a made up conspiracy theory. Especially not a story of that serious a nature and magnitude. And one would think CBC would've put more effort into the details of trying to debunk it, if it is in error.

It's certainly not perfect is it @Kimmio Laughterlove. Both organizations have excellent journalists. We need to hear from them. If the Corp is silencing them, that's a problem. Heck, even Fox News has excellent journalists, ie Chris Wallace. It's too bad the nonsense is louder. That likely applies to all media outlets.

I'm glad there's more room for independent, grass-roots journalism. I haven't always agreed with David Frum. I'm glad he has a platform to express his views about the current US president and to present alternatives. Some CBC journalists have left to do their own podcasts and blogs. This is good because presumably they don't have to toe the party line of their employer. Of course, there's some whacky ideas out there. That's not entirely bad if we're consuming media responsibly and are using our critical thinking skills.

Chris Wallace used to be a less biased journalist - he's not as good now. Heck, even Geraldo Rivera had his day as a good investigative journalist (sadly he got more famous for doing tabloid TV).

Still, I have respect for Chris Wallace. I may not agree with him, I do see he's done some research as part of his opinion. He's not just drinking the Koolaid.

I would like to clear up something that has been bothering me.

Give me a break .... how do you go from ignoring this ...

It has been just over a year now since I rejoined the military, this time as a Canadian Ranger. About twenty years ago I had been in the Royal Canadian Artillery when I was living in Saskatchewan.

When the Rangers began recruiting in our area of central Manitoba to form a new Patrol in the Swan River Valley, I put in my application right away. I had heard of the Rangers but never thought I would have a chance to be one or even be in the military again. The Rangers are usually in the more northern and remote areas of Canada but I guess that is really saying something about Swan River.

I began to work with our local Patrol Commander and the Company HQ in Winnipeg to assist with the administration and application process in the forming of our new Patrol. I was often down in Winnipeg on business with GrindHouse and the Ring Of Fire Jalapeno Garlic Sausage.
I was sworn in last May and we had our first exercise in June which took place in the Duck Mountains, which is on the south side of the Valley. This photo was taken during that exercise.
When we began to form the Patrol and fill the leadership positions, I was voted in as the Patrol 2IC or 2nd In Command. I have really enjoyed working with the Rangers. In the last year I have been all over Manitoba and have worked with Rangers from every Patrol in the province. Every exercise has been interesting and unique. I have been on boats, canoes, quads, snowmobiles, airplanes, and helicopters. I have also done training with the Canadian Coast Guard at Gimli on Lake Winnipeg and Search and Rescue training with the OFC or Office of the Fire Commissioner. I have also been an instructor for some of the Wilderness Survival training courses that the Rangers have provided to members of the Canadian Armed Forces and Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I was even up with the Gillam Patrol during the manhunt last summer.
As some of you may already know, things have been on hold with my GrindHouse meat products due to the logistics of the COVID-19 situation. As a Canadian Ranger, I am also a member of the Canadian Armed Forces Army Reserves. I am one of the military volunteers who are on call across Canada with Operation LASER which is our military's response to help deal with the Corona virus pandemic.
I am not sure what will be left of our economy, industries, and businesses when this all ends. I would like to continue on with my meat products when my volunteer contract with the military is done, whenever that is.
I am really looking forward to this pandemic ending so I can go back to having more adventures with my fellow Rangers.

To focusing on this ...
The post also directs people to look up "Event 201," a worldwide pandemic preparedness exercise run last year ....

I have directed people to look up 'Event 201' which in fact was a worldwide pandemic preparedness exercise run last year was it not?

And because I have done that ... everyone here has relegated me to being among the
'conspiracy theorists' using it to 'suggest Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is behind COVID-19' ...

That Bill Gates is behind COVID-19 ... in more ways than one ... is not a theory ... it is well documented fact.

How does my recognition of the facts make me conspiracy theorist any more than you are a conspiracy theorist to assume that the reason this man is running around armed and dangerous is because he 'buys' into conspiracy theories about Bill Gates?

The man likes guns and is looking forward to the pandemic ending so he can continue making sausages and playing with his fellow rangers again.

How you can spin that into dangerous conspiracy theorist is magical!

Rita, note that Mendalla writes:

I hope this does not pan out the way it sounds, but that gunman arrested at Rideau Hall apparently cited a conspiracy trope on his business' FB page only an hour before the event happened. This is where conspiracy theories stop being innocent madness and move into the realm of a serious risk to safety. People who take this stuff seriously are not necessarily unwilling to take dramatic action on it. As I said, I hope that's not what happened here, but it does point up the risks.

Infant mortality down; number of vaccinations down ...

The reference here is an analysis of mortality data by Mark Blaxill and Amy Becker,
“Lessons from the Lockdown,” posted at Children’s Health Defense on June 18:

“But the pandemic experience has brought on a surprising effect on this expected death rate among children. Starting in early March, expected deaths began a sharp decline, from an expected level of around 700 deaths per week to well under 500 by mid‐April and throughout May.”

“As untimely deaths spiked among the elderly in Manhattan nursing homes and in similar settings all over the country, something mysterious was saving the lives of children. As springtime in America came along with massive disruptions in family life amid near universal lockdowns, roughly 30% fewer children died.”

“Virtually the entire change came from infants. Somehow, the changing pattern of American life during the lockdowns has been saving the lives of hundreds of infants, over 200 per week.”

“One very clear change that has received publicity is that public health officials are bemoaning the sharp decline in infant vaccinations as parents are not taking their infants into pediatric offices for their regular well‐baby checks. In the May 15 issue of the CDC Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), a group of authors from the CDC and Kaiser Permanente reported a sharp decline in provider orders for vaccines as well as a decline in pediatric vaccine doses administered. These declines began in early March, around the time infant deaths began declining.”

Coincidence?

Haha, you do realize that children a really prone to accidents?

I was thinking much the same. Staying home all the time is safer for many of us. Even infants whose parents can give them more attention. I highly doubt it's one thing that is reducing mortality as the poster above you suggests.
