I need to find "a boy/man/person" to come and pressure wash and then water treat mine. I wish I did more myself. I am tired of eternally trying to find the right "helper".

I'm glad I can do a bit more myself - "helpers" are almost non-existent for yard work...I planted a row of peas and a package of onion sets today and I planted some hollyhocks along the west wall of the garage
 
I can plant and weed no problem. I can even, if I'm careful, move bags of stuff around in barrows.

What I can't seem to get accomplished is a job, like washing and treating the deck, that requires a fairly large investment of labour over a couple of days.

Chemguy has been stripping ours. He did a fair bit last summer, but not entirely.
Hopefully staining will come later.
Disappointed in deckover. I loved the surface of it, but it started peeling fast. We had a few spots after the first winter, I was hoping mostly just due to the BBQ, but 2nd and 3rd it was clear it wasn't just a BBQ problem.
 
I think that staining decks is just a recipe for too much work. I remember Dad and sis fussing over bi-yearly repainting of cast iron railings. However, I have found that water-treating wood is worth it, but requires pre-cleaning. It's a two day job, and my son was very good about it.
 
It's a stay in day so far here. I am rewatching a playlist on PBS Space Time. I watched the episodes on the playlist before, but it's on quantum mechanics and once is never enough. Or twice. Or... Yeah, I love this stuff but there are good reasons I became a librarian instead of a theoretical physicist.:nerd:

Half of the saskatoons are blended with dates (and a splash of lemon juice) and the other half are left whole and the two mixed together...I don't tend to find saskatoons overly chewy usually
 
I have biked the 1.5 km loop every day since Friday morning! More weeding done this morning and I started figuring out the path for the garden labyrinth - needs tweaking and weeded before I can plant the garden
 
Hey @BethAnne, remember we were talking about skunks a while back? My backyard about three hours ago:

You know, for all their reputation, skunks have got to be among the most beautiful mammals alive. That black and white coat is so lovely. There was another, larger, one but I didn't get to the camera in time to get a shot of that one.

Good pic!...They are quite beautiful and cute...and apparently very soft and they are very clean...and I found out they are better mousers than cats...I just wish they didn't stink!
