OTOH, there are so many options every day at the coffee cart . . .
On which Sunday does it turn from x number of Sunday after Easter to x number of Sunday pre- Christmas?Good reminder that the church year goes on, despite all the restrictions in society. c(_)

Oh, I suppose that was the children’s version of counting months, weeks, days to Christmas, after Christmas months to Easter and again after Easter months to Christmas. They don’t care about Pentecost or anything else in between. After Pentecost (and Trinity Sunday, the 1st Sunday after Pentecost, if observed) we go into what is called 'ordinary time' for some reason that escapes me. The counting starts again with the Sundays in Advent (4 of them) before Christmas.

That's likely the reason, yes. Between Pentecost and Advent is pretty much high-holy-day free.No particular Christian feast days beyond saints' days maybe, so it's "ordinary" in that sense?
The church might have to rename "ordinary time" this year methinks!!After Pentecost (and Trinity Sunday, the 1st Sunday after Pentecost, if observed) we go into what is called 'ordinary time' for some reason that escapes me. Anyway, it is coffee time. The cart is ready for your hot beverage needs.
I had the day off, because I worked last Saturday. Drove into Halifax to Costco with a shopping list for four households. Here is the good news: Costco has toilet paper! ( we didn’t need any).
