Food morning/afternoon as the case may be. I've been out and back. I had an in person doctor's appointment that could have been done on the phone. Still, it was nice to get out for a drive. I stopped at the store to find a functioning can opener. I was that turkey who went the wrong way on the one way aisles. I realized that while that's a good idea in theory, it's a challenge in practice. It turns out it's hard for me to go in a straight line in the grocery store. I did find a good can opener and some glue to fix a couple things. I've decided I like the physical distancing in the store. It's quite civilized.

i have a doctor's appointment by phone next week. I need to go for blood-work beforehand. The lab's website was hacked a few months ago so I need to figure out how to book my appointment and get my results on line.

Maybe this will be tomorrow's task.

Lifelabs? If you already have an account, it still exists, they will just force a password change when you login if you haven't been on since the hack.

I had an appointment with a specialist by phone on Tuesday. Went well but that's mostly because my last test results were good enough that all he had to say was that he didn't need to see me again until 2023. :giggle:

Good morning, WC2ers! We made it to Friday. We made it through April. Let us mark this auspicious occasion with hot beverages!

Food morning to you too @Northwind! This made me chuckle - emblematic of our current stay-at-home preoccupations perhaps? I know - really just a typo ... but hey, gotta chuckle when we can these days!! Looks like we are in for some blue skies and warmer temps in the coming week here in southern Ontario ... woohoo! Getting outdoors is always good for my soul.

Just got a birthday invitation to my great nephew's 5th birthday: It's to be a birthday parade past his window. I will have to get creative and decorate the car. I also plan to deliver a gift (pajamas...Mom's request!), ice cream and ice cream cones, on his door step. Of course, he'll have to put his ice cream cone together himself. He's a pretty special little guy, and I think he will enjoy this different birthday.

Good morning and happy Saturday! Tea water is hot, coffee is brewed, help yourself.

I immediately thought - pj's are good to tuck something else in - a book - game - art/craft supplies!
My great nephew lives in a house with 6 people and 2 dogs. My sister, his grandma, is one of them...and she told me NO TOYS or anything else, because he will get lots from other people, and their house is overcrowded as it is (not a big house). So...pjs and consumables, like ice cream. He says that I am his best friend (how cute is that?) so I was trying to come up with something fun that wouldn't bug my sister.

Good morning. It's a dreary rainy day here. I plan to do some cleaning and knitting today. Not necessarily in that or any particular order.

Gift card for a local business that can be used later?

Good morning! Happy 4th Sunday of Easter! Time for coffee, tea and etc.

Good morning. Tea is in order. Lots of it.

Had trouble going to sleep last night and no idea why. However, weather is nice and I will likely get in a walk today. Otherwise, nothing really planned.

They've been with us a long time, too. This is one of the oldest known pottery (i.e. made on a potter's wheel) mugs, found in Zhengzhou, China and dated to 2000-2500 BCE. Older drinking cups could be made from anything from clay to bone to wood.

And a clay mug (ie. not made on a wheel) from c. 4000 BCE in Susa, Mesopotamia.
