Watching movies and working tonight. Having a glass of red wine. Checking in on wonercafe2. If you have to be away from home, might as well make yourself at home. I've got my room, which is nice.....makes it easier to settle in.

Get all your note organized and try to get the basic flow of the paper going in your head before you write. And stock up on your favorite caffeine source. You're going to need it.

Grey day in my spot in the Midwest. Meetings all day today. Face time to break through barriers.

Hoping all of you have a safe and wonder-filled day

Thanks Mendalla and Pinga. I have done some work on it - and have other ideas for it noted on my cellphone.

Don't pull an all-nighter.

Do 1/2 tonight, and 1/2 tomorrow night. The quality will be higher.

I agree with this.

Not to mention that the day after an all-nighter is typically substandard.

I find it's always best for me to get a good sleep before I have to do a presentation. I'm in bad shape without it.

When I do significant presentations - I usually print my text (or slides with speaker notes below), in a large size font so I can easily reference them, using at least 1.5 spacing between lines. I put all the pages into a half-inch ring binder so they stay in order. I add notations to myself about when to change slides, pause, etc & use a highlighter on these notes so they stand out. I practice speaking the presentation aloud so I see how the words flow when I say them - sometimes written words seem good but trip up the tongue when spoken & may need to be altered. Remember to speak slowly - nervousness tends to speed up rate of speech. Practicing aloud also allows you to time the presentation - make sure you are well under the permitted time allotment.

If you're using slides - remember they should include only minimal key text, or else they will distract your audience from your words.

Good luck!

Jae has training in broadcast journalism. He'll be fine speaking.
It's his writing that needs work judging from the gibberish appearing on last post.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes.

If I'm not posting much, it's just because I'm tired. I often think, oh - I'll come to that and post later - then forget! Especially happens when I'm snacking or drinking tea, where mousing with one hand is easy, but typing is more effort. I try to like posts at least.

I'm still having a bit of a rough time, but it's better than that bad month I had. Now, doing a few things seems to put me on the verge of having an attack, without actually having it! I just gotta make sure I stay under that threshold :)

I had given up on planned exercise for a bit, as I knew it was too much on top of the chores & errands that were leading to attacks. Going back to the classes & routines I was doing before probably wouldn't be healthy right now either. I've got some in between resources though, so hoping I'm up to those.

I know it's normal to expect some bad days. The problem is I haven't had a really good day in a while. At least the ok days seem to be more frequent now, hopefully that means some good days are on their way!

I pulled a lot of almost all nighters (usually squeezed in 2-3hrs of sleep) in university. So, if you have to do an all nighter, take small breaks through out, get up and walk around the room or block, get a snack watch some tv etc. Stay in your work clothes, don't get into your pjs. Make sure you have all the sources etc that you will need before the libraries etc close for the night (thank goodness for the internet). I always work better with background noise anyway but I found it especially useful in the middle of the night so that you don't get too sleepy. With that, make sure you have lots of light, more so than you might usually.

Greetings all!

A lot of activity and conversation here in the Room!

Trip for eye appointment went well yesterday. The roads were actually very good, but a bit icier in a few spots on the way home. Left bright and early (5:30) and were home just before 5:30 evening time. Appointment went well. He is still please with how the surgery looks and doesn't want to see me for 3 months (unless something is of a concern before then). That was wonderful news.

Today our weather has warmed up . . . and with warmer weather comes snow. Started snowing this morning and it is still snowing - but it is a light, fluffy type of snow.

Boiling pork neck bones to make some broth. Doing a few chores around the house. And trying to catch up on WC2.

Have a great day everyone.

ChemGal, although our health journeys are so different, I completely understand how you feel regarding to good, bad, and sometimes better days. While yours is a constant, I am counting on continued healing. But it is such a roller coaster ride. And many times I have expressed as you have about just wishing for one more "really good day". I had about 5 pretty darn good days before Christmas, but since then I think I have only had one or two that were pretty good, and some of them in between were pretty awful.

I hope 2015 holds better for you . . . this has been such a long and difficult go for you.

Thanks Beloved! I hope the same for you :)
I think the cold has been a trigger, so I expect good days with spring, I just hope I don't have to hold out that long to get them! I've had good winters in the past, so it's possible!
