I agree with Lastpointe actually - the fewer trips one makes into community stores, the better for everyone - including all the staff who work there. It's a big change, planning & shopping less frequently - but the more we can do it, the better off all of us will be.

I've found that stores are quieter so I feel safe enough at those times. I only touch what I need to touch and leave when I have what I need. I was at London Drugs last week and it was nuts. I left quickly. Mr Northwind is doing the grocery trips/errands mostly right now. While it is wise to limit to once a week, there are times when more than that will happen. Trips can be done safely with proper choices.

I understand Kimmio's need to go out twice a week. She has real limitations and is working with that. Of course, it is better to only go out once a week. If you have a car and the place to store stuff, that works. It may even work to go out less often. We live in a small space. We cannot easily stock a lot of extra supplies. Sometimes we have to do our best within the limits.

Yes. It’s not all seniors and people with mobility issues (some invisible disabilities too). They started about a week or so ago. I think they open an hour earlier. But by 8, the usual time, it’s still really quiet. There’s tons of space to get around. As with close to closing time.
Do you also have someone checking in on you and offering help if you need it? It's a lonely time for singles, widows/ers and quite frankly it can be scary without support.

No. And my landlords are not following the rules. They had a guest in their garage/ workshop, this morning. Somebody from the woohoo church they attend. I heard them talking outside. They didn’t go in the house because I don’t think I was supposed to know. They were probably social distancing. There’s enough space...but they’re hypocrites. My landlady has gone to Sidney (outskirts) to visit her dad twice this week. She’s not supposed to. I am being really good, actually.

My personal rule is that if I'm going to work I will do some shopping if I need to before or after my shift. I've also done shopping for my sister while she was quarantined. It's also sort of a rule that if I have to visit the LCBO, I'll do it on a day that I'm out, working, anyway.

I did that when I had a medical appointment. I did some small errands on the way home. everywhere I went had great safety measures in place.

Public park trespassers in Toronto could face minimum $750 fine ...

On Monday, Toronto Mayor John Tory warned that if people are caught defying city by-laws by continuing to use city parks and amenities closed due to COVID-19, they could be fined a minimum of $750. Tory said by-law officers and police will be conducting blitzes at public parks to ensure these rules are followed.

This is where we are heading folks ... a minimum of 750.00 fine ... for walking in the park.

Seriously?

The City of Barrie has set up a COVID-19 enforcement line so that residents can report cases of non-compliance with coronavirus-related emergency orders.

Officials say the city will investigate the use of city-owned amenities, including playground structures and skate parks, gatherings of five or more in public spaces, as well as non-essential businesses that are providing in-person services to residents.

“The city’s enforcement staff are currently conducting proactive patrols of all city parks,”

“It is an offence to fail to comply with an emergency order. The maximum punishment is one-year imprisonment or a fine of up to $100,000 for an individual, $500,000 for a director of a corporate or $10,000,000 for a corporation.”

Land mines are controversial because they remain dangerous after the conflict in which they were deployed, killing and injuring civilians and rendering land impassable and unusable for decades. The International Campaign to Ban Landmines has sought to prohibit their use, culminating in the 1997 Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction, known informally as the Ottawa Treaty. The UN estimates that with current technology, it will take nearly 1,100 years to clear all the mines in the world.

Well, it's a better use of cops than knocking on my door because my dog was barking mid-day because there were plumbing contractors (complete with a van, dim wit) in my house. We're very tattle-tale-y here. ONCE this winter, on a mild night, I forgot to move my car into the driveway. Insta-ticket...

If "mines are bad" is what you took from her story, then you missed the point by a country mile.
