TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

I think it makes him more like themselves, which speaks for the poor education and communication skills of his voters. But his voters must be the kind of people who think a President is best when he is no better than themselves. ( which might be the same category as people who do not want their children to become more educated than themselves).
Ah, so elderly women with disabilities can be labelled "white b-tches" and Anteater approves of Hillary's disparaging "basket of deplorables" label for Trump voters. And yet, progressives DEPLORE the divisive rhetoric of conservatives! You remind me of my philosophy professor (a Yale PhD) who lamented how comparatively inarticulate Canadian college students are compared to their American counterparts in their writing skills.

I know what you mean. "N-bombs" used to sprinkle the rants of southern comedians. I guess UCCans don't think we should get in a snit about that either? Actually, Minchin the stammerer is neither funny nor insightful. But then, when a book on femininst humor came out, an English professor friend commented, giggling that "feminist humor" is an oxymoron. That's one reason why I suggested a new "Humor and Memorable Quotes" section for this site.
Minchin Is a Genius ... speaking of N-bombs ...

You know, a man presuming to tell women how they should feel about something sounds just a little ... sexist?

I mean, if strong women like Bette and Ritafee are cool with Minchin, then maybe we should listen to them instead of telling them why they are wrong.

'Basket of Deplorables'?

Are they "strong" or (to use their approved word) just "b-tchy?" But I see what you mean: if American comedians want to use N-bombs during their routines and women dig it, surely it is sexist to object on the basis of the pain that ugly word inflects on African Americans.

'A woman is like a tea bag --
you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water
.'

Same goes for a man?

Seriously @Mystic ... listen to the song I posted ... stop being so b-tchy.

My mother was a REGGIN ...

Are you talking about what Rita posted? Did you listen to it?

To start with, Tim, as I've said a couple of times, is Oz. Although he did, in fact, play the role of Judas in the Arena version of JC Superstar in the U.K. a few years ago. A fabulous production; really unique, but faithful to the original. My favourite Webber-Rice collaboration of all time, although I also liked Chess as a niche piece.

Secondly, if you'd actually f***ing listened, "Only a ginger can call another ginger"... Anagrams, my dear, and a sense of humour, are your friends. And maybe the ability to notice that Tim has very red hair. My mother had that REALLY intense carrot-y colour. I was more a strawberry blonde.

If you are responding to what I was saying, please note that I did not say anything about Michin nor Hillary. Assuming I am approving of anything I didn’t say is not useful in any type of communication. But maybe you are not interested in communicating with the goal of understanding but in judging or stirring conflict. Not exactly very Christian, either.

No wonder this site has endured precipitous decline!
We are a small community of persons seeking conversation leading to improved insight and fostering mutual encouragement. All are welcome to participate by expressing their point of view. Each is valued for his or her contribution. We are not particularly interested in proving we are right while others are wrong.

From time to time persons come by who are determined to present themselves as having the whole truth and nothing but the truth. We are patient with such guests, hoping they will come to the realization that mutuality is preferred to conformity with any self centred opinion.

As to the way of God, we are well aware that the spirit of God is like the wind which freely blows through our landscape. You seem to be convinced that you have caught that wind in a net and all must agree with you to be included in the love of God. Is that the case?

ALL ... should be aware of deplorable contrariness ... as some mysterious force caused us to wish to play a dark game ... resulting in blindness and unknowns ... that's life!

Maybe after we'll see better the far side of satyrs or the other cheek of the r' sis! God did it ... created an awesome maas/mess! Should we have learned differently? Then maybe could have unravelled the entanglement!

The Shadow knows as it follows the Red Headed Unknown ... a Nordic in the holee LANS ... blue ayed and blown up to no ends ...

I've only been lurking here for a bit. I'm wondering why a man (@Mystic ) feels qualified or compelled to determine what women here think or believe......

Authority complex .... directs all others to be simple for the big KISS ... yet these oligarchs can be vastly insecure about their futures ... as the supporting realm weakens with the extraction of what isn't known to them! The subtle road through the swamp into bottom lines ...

Could the foundations be supported better from on high? Doubtful due to the imposed avarice ... that's all about controlling personalities ... divisive in literary machinations ... black and white being used to raise red and yellow modes of mind!

Fills out the compass into rounds ... 4 points tuit!

I wish it was confined to religious men, but I find sex matters more than faith in determining sexism. Faith is an exacerbating factor in many cases, but I suspect, for instance, that the male in question above would be who he is no matter his belief system.

Yeah, when do religious men ever tell women what to think or believe?

It is a control issue as sometimes related to definitions of avarice (the ultimate desire to control everything .... God syndrome)?

When one discovers they aren't a god ... one can relax as a daemon ... or creature of the pyre! Carry on ... tis obviously a foggy mental issue ... like sigh 'ns in the willowing ... expect some sacrifice and burning desires ...

Its just word(s) but there are monoliths vs polylith and the ones desiring to control all alone will not abide with the grits in the wilderness ... aways from the powers of the mob ... where quiet and partisan thoughts erupt!

Believe the falling monoliths as weighty will cause great rackets across the LAN! This may assist the shock of learning ... a deep wave ... Seis Mick!

But little people and garden gnomes are not supposed to know about such dissonance ... thus Eris 'tis! When heated and confined .... some things bust out --- RL Stevenson on unknown and unexpected powers of failure!

Lagoons may pile up outer rings ... inside shallow calms expectations that this too will passover ... chaos reigns! You can see it if you stop and look out from inside the system you din;t know was there at the core ...

Its complex contrary to the authority's desire for simplicity ...

Religion - Not the cause of misogyny, just an eager participant
The biblical story of Adam and Eve is considered by some as defining women as responsible for the emergence of evil in human relations. The Apostle Paul carries this forward by insisting that women must be subordinate to men and forbidding them to speak in public. There is also historic note of insubordinate women being tortured and burned as witches. This endorsed by men of the cloth.

So are we now all enlightened ... we are all sons and daughters ... our character is influenced and shaped by our culture and the sons and daughters of the previous culture ... I am hoping that we will get to a place where sons and daughters stop blaming each other for our differences and start 'being in it together'. Mystic is demonstrating a lack of character using 'his religion' as his scapegoat. Religion is a very handy scapegoat ... I am not buying it anymore ... some religious people are of very good character and some are not ... regardless of whether they are a son or a daughter.
