Imagine the Lady of mystery ... Elvira's mad hagan ... a spin off of Hagi ... as those wise in working with mystery!

Could have been exposure to the Din ... OH in the forest ... when the woo'd in hart was cracked ... coded by the axes man ...

Does much to explore the world of Magi ... as wise is't hidden in the val 've the myth! For those that didn't wish to know ... to avoid!

However it just seems to get those with the greatest sense of naivete ... to ... like frogues get into warming pooled situations and conditions of transliteration with the Cis turns ...

The things folk don't know about word is vast ... and much is dead and forgotten ... thus dead language etudes ... polytech?

With it so much is not as it appears by the rites of reality exposures ...

Good morning, all! 'Tis the weekend! Let us mark the occasion with warm beverages! Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and there may be some hot apple cider mix in there, too. Enjoy!

Warm beverages and possibly some fresh baking will be in order today. We have a windchill of -45 C. I can also give thanks that it wasn't quite that cold in the days earlier as I was in the city getting my second cataract removed.

Wow, that was close together- you are going into the New Year with new vision! Hope you like the outlook ;)

Being off for almost six weeks now, I am falling into a really relaxed routine. After getting up and having my coffee, I started reading the book about non-violence I am working my way through- which then inspired me to write down my spiritual pathway- and now its almost noon! Oh, well, I guess I am having my shower now.
Was talking to a friend last night who just retired on December 1 st about “ how to spend the rest of my life” after retirement ( I am still a couple of years away from it). She is an avid knitter, weaver, crafter- but said that that cannot be all. I suppose it takes a time of transition to find a new/ or changed purpose.

Nasty wet gray day here ... rain, sleet, snow, rain again .... good day to stay in! I baked some gluten free gingerbread cookies this afternoon - so the house smells good! I'll leave a plate here to share ....

Yummy! Our office elves were getting presents ready to send out for employees' children and grandchildren this week and had gingerbread trees with their lunch. I wasn't involved (used to be when it was an actual party for the children but have withdrawn in recent years), but got to sample the leftovers. :giggle:

And, yeah, Ontario is just grim today. Was out doing shopping and other errands and the rain just kept coming, sometimes mixed with wet snow. Ottawa was even under a rainfall warning at one point (haven't checked if it is still up).

We have some sunshine. It popped out when the windchill reached a frigid -47 earlier this morning. As planned I stayed inside and baked a cherry cake. Youngest son came over for coffee and to share his news - out of work. It wasn't a surprise - he is a welder and has been doing contract work on a pipeline.

We sat outside by a fire for quite awhile today. While it was lovely by most Canadian standards, it's still December. I'm hoping my core temperature rises soon. I am not complaining for the record. I'm very thankful to have been able to enjoy a campfire at this time of year. Going inside an hour earlier might have been wise.

Sorry I missed you this time around. (I have a mild cold and had to cancel). I’m glad it all went ok, and you even had some fun. I’m looking forward to seeing you next time! :)

I got my electric scooter the other day. It’s great to have wheels, and more independence, and not feel so tired just getting daily things done. I’m getting the hang of backing up and turning (which feels counter intuitive to me, like it should go the other way than the way the front wheel is turned. I don’t drive a car so I never got the feel for backing up while turning, and I don’t like backing out of tight spots, so far) and turning on tight corners...also, learning which streets around here have the best sidewalks and curb-cuts, and the least potholes! I’m getting properly trained on how to drive it on and off the bus - transit does that for people here, which is great, but unfortunately, because of the holidays, I have to wait a few weeks for that. I was thinking of going to one of the nearest bus hubs near here - possibly tomorrow, a slower traffic day. There is a bus that stops there for 15 minutes and it’s usually pretty empty at that stop...so I thought of asking the driver if, maybe, they’ll let me practice by myself a couple of times so I can use the bus with the scooter sooner. It’s definitely a safer idea to take it on the bus after dark (though it can get over 30 km mileage before it needs recharging...so, if i need to I can drive it most places I need to go, unless it’s pouring rain, or snowing) . If I can manage to bring it inside my place, I figure I can get used to the bus fairly quickly without much supervision.

It’s fastest speed is a quick jogger’s pace. It’s fast enough to get me around.

I’m finding I’m less stiff and sore (which zaps my energy) because I’m not overexerting myself trying to keep my balance, or hunched over a walker, leaning hard on it, hurting my back and shoulders. The walker has been helpful, but over the past couple of years, it too, began to cause overuse pains/ repetitive strain.

Congrats, kimmio, my mom used one for years until her arms could not hold the handle bar anymore and she needed a power wheelchair. I hope you got a four wheeled one, the three wheeled are quite tippy. My mom could transport a lot of things with it, having a big basket between her feet and a backpack hanging from the seat. You can get cup holders, too. You could have an attachment to take your walker, if you need it to go into stores.
It probable doesn’t get too cold where you live, but in general it is better to store it indoors during the winter, it makes the battery last longer. What colour did you get?

So happy to hear your mobility has been extended. What are the traffic rules for electric scooters in your province? We rented one when my sister was visiting and I asked about that at the RCMP detachment. They said None - but we don't advise recklessness! I see them on sidewalks and out in the downtown traffic - even occasionally on a highway that leads to some fast food places.

Never heard of them going for bus rides - that is neat!

When people buy campers they often go to an empty parking lot to practice - especially the backing up bit. Maybe that trick would be useful for you.

There are some walkers nowadays that seem to be better designed. They allow the user to stand up straight. There are some on Amazon.

So soon it will be "Ford vs. Ferrari vs. Kimmio" :ROFLMAO:LOL! That's terrific that you now have such a great mobility option Kimmio! Glad it's working out well so far & that soon bus trips will also be a good option. Must feel pretty liberating! A good Xmas gift to yourself.

My godfather has the coolest "all wheel drive" walker that lets him navigate a lot of the property around his old cabin in the woods, with its stumps and rocks and gravel.

Yes both scooters and wheelchairs have special spots (with tie downs) on our city busses. There is room for 2 per bus. Given this is a retirement community , trying to take 2 students in a wheelchairs on a bus does not always work out, as one spot is usually occupied.

Kimmio do you also qualify for Handidart? It is useful for trips outside of bus schedules or places buses do not go.
