Daughter came home from clinic today with diagnosis of walking pneumonia and antibiotics. Hope to hear less of the "barking seal" from downstairs.

Bette, hope your daughter is feeling well soon.
@Mrs.Anteater that sounds lovely. I need to have another baking day, as our cookies are all gone! oh well. They enjoyed them. I do sense that it is time to start baking more, the family does enjoy home baking.

Is the fondue a family tradition?
It’s more a way of extending the time of having a meal together and keeping the kids off the phone. I like it on holidays like New Years eve, when you are trying to stay awake til midnight. It encourages conversation, because you are sitting around one pot, you look at eachother more, you constantly have to share and pass things.

It sounds great Mrs. A. Let the good times roll.

Fond's knew about something else a' Gin ... Elsea liked it and all dissolved in ripples ... diffractive lens depends on slits?

Schisms in the system? Very churchy ...

I'm worn out. My energy has not returned to where I know it can get - ie. at times this past summer.
I've just been pushing through at times because sometimes it's necessary and other times there are things I want to do. I figured I needed a full morning of rest though, so I told Chemguy I was taking this morning off to sleep in. I cancelled my workout for today. Fitbit says I slept for a bit over 12.5 hours straight, I know that's not totally true as I did wake up a bit when Chemguy got up. I was still in half asleep mode though and fell back asleep easily.
I was hoping that's what I needed to 'reset'. I have things I planned to do this afternoon. Curling up under some blankets and just watching netflix sounds sooo appealing though. I'm still feeling pretty exhausted.

I am still tired and but can see the light at the end as the antibiotics kick in. I keep looking at things I want to do, and napping after work. I will be SO glad when this is over!

Feel better everyone! Looks like lots of bugs circulating. I'm off to make Hersey Kisses brownies...Babysitting grandsons tomorrow night (after a full day working in a crazily busy shoe store) so the 9 year old will appreciate the goodies. The 7 month old...well, he'll probably make strange with me, so I'll resort to eating the brownies to feel better.

I hope everyone gets better.
I also have been sick - nothing serious, but a pharyngitis when I arrived, and now a scalp folliculitis. I have what seems to be a small swollen lymph node on the back of my neck the side the folliculitis is worst, I hope they're connected - I'm really worried though I think I shouldn't be.
Not being able to see a doctor is driving me crazy. I should have my work permit by the end of January or mid-February.

That sucks GiancarloZ. How will this No Doctor rule play out if you are sick enough to need iv antibiotics or something? Or some careless motorist hits you with their car?

I do have insurance for emergencies, but it is limited to accidents generally. So I cannot see a doctor for any other thing. And if I want to pay it'd a small fortune I think. Some days I get very anxious and think about going to Brazil to see a doctor.

There are prescribing pharmacists, although that varies by province. Might be worth checking out.

Here in Korea, I must pay too to see a doc, but from what I've seen, it isn't very expensive. A check up costs around 45,000 won (about 45 dollars). Hope you're feeling better soon.

Today was weird, meeting regarding restructuring/layoffs that occurred within the company (plus mentions of companies that recent just laid of 40% of employees) followed by our lunch Christmas party. One person got quite upset and walked out of the meeting. Management (which now includes my husband) was whispering about checking on her to make sure she was ok. I was the one who ended up in the bathroom with her though, after asking Chemguy if anyone had actually checked on her (I think I've seen her all of 3 times now, as she only started in the fall). I do think my boss had a chat with her later to fill her in/follow up.

If I were in your situation, and a bit worried, I would personally find and visit a 'good' (i.e. trained in China AND from within the Chinese hospital system) Doctor of Chinese Medicine, to both get some relief and make sure you're "okay" to go without western medicine for a month or two (my DCM would whip me over to Western system in a heart beat if she thought anything was really up). Usually ranges about $90-100 for an hour treatment.
