You mean fire can't get to the old growth as easily as usual, so it jumps that and is burning up newer growth forest? (Sounds like an unfortunate consequence of something meant to be helpful, if so.) Watched on the Fort Mac video footage how fire can "jump" and burn whatever it can burn. Whatever is around and can ignite. Scary.

I don't get how it's worse - as far as forest fires being a thing - it only means the fires will burn where they can burn. I would imagine old growth forests take longer to burn and spread than brush fires and smaller, younger trees.

New growth doesn't burn so well. Old stuff does, especially fallen trees, branches, etc.

Another factor is all the beetle kill wood in the forests of BC. The dead wood has been sitting there all these years drying out. It's good kindling/fuel too.
 
I was looking up some vaccine info on AHS's page just to provide something to someone else. I cam across adverse reporting. It looks like my bitching paid off. I did try to report my reaction after the dTap and got pissed off that it wouldn't be done due to a per-existing condition and I wrote to Health Canada about it, only to find out that had nothing to do with their policy - it was all from Alberta. Discovered then that my flu shot reaction didn't actually get reported either. So I went back through AHS and discussed this.

Turns out the next year they made it mandatory for any health care professional who was made aware of an adverse event to get it reported and this information is quite easy to find. (y)

Complex bugs in the system for complexity ... complexity bugs a whole populace in denial ... thus it can be believed as unreal and not believed at all until what is unknown creeps up unknowingly!

It is a system of unknowing creating great mystique, and mystics (those who study and question the mystical and get labelled occultists) who look into dark things ... the things some authorities would like you "not to know" ... as they would feel they were missing something as if they had a gnawing worm ... nymphs in the existence ... creating bores or sometime rays in the Woten heart ...

Tis all essence of abstract ... and creation needed a dark spot as authorities didn't wish much to come to awareness on the conflict of justice/injustice ... the swigs cause pain and cause cognizance to some. Some alternates are too comfortable to experience what the others do ... its's too complex and imaginary to them ... but could alter in a flash ... of rye myth ...
 
Yikes - I"m seeing reports of bad weather right now, maybe mild tornado up around Bette's area - hopefully not too close or too damaging! Stay safe everyone.

There have been lots of alerts. CBC, although my cell didn't alert. Dog was nervous. All seems well now. I was around during the 1987 tornado, and remember the extreme stillness and the strange colour of the sky. Today seemed pretty normal to me. I have a tree out back that I have a watch on, though...
 
You may have read me mention that I have been caring for a wee one. Lots has gone on in the past while, but, I am happy to share that i am now a grandma. I have been snuggly our little granddaughter, and my sister & I are currently planning a baby shower.
It is pretty darn awesome.
We are headed there tomorrow morning for my sister to meet this little one.
Remembering the song "showers of blessings" we used to sing at camp. Trying to find it on youtube, but everything is very different from what i remember.
 
another smokeless day-what a treasure-an high school friend who I have not seen since grade 11 came by for a visit and we took a walk along the creek.
