It's normal due to vacancy of mind ... it just isn't useful in the dark emotional realm ...

And all this odd stuff bouncing off the autonomous Wahls ... it creates dissociation ...

Perhaps a sign of de ontological terminals? Jump to the next step ...

But the plan was to scrap it, and redo it. So not huge surprise too see modifications

I have not read groups unhappy about cyber bullying stuff.

But the plan was to scrap it, and redo it. So not huge surprise too see modifications

The plan he promised was to dump it for the 1998 version and then do the redo over the longer term with consultation. Bringing back elements of the new curriculum almost right away, esp. the ones dealing with gender identity, wasn't what he promised. The gender identity part is particularly going to upset folks because that's one that upset a lot of apple carts, esp. on the Christian right.

And now that the religious zealots have vented, Doug is back to the position of using the 1998 curriculum.

My daughter recently came home from summer camp, some will recall. She is 11. She was in groups of 11 and 12 year olds. She was in a tent for 12 days with 3 tentmates around her age. They had a lot of time to talk. She listened as one new friend explained how her family doesn't accept she is gay. My daughter is 11 and has a gay friend. This girl spent a lot of time with Claire because Claire listened to her. This is the reality - these kids are navigating sexual issues earlier than ever, and they need to be informed. Parents as the primary sex educators? Frightening.

What can the anti-loonies deny?

All that which is unknown to them as an ideal ... idealistically should the common folk know nothing?

Is that stated in the big book? Long p' lause ... as plus departs ... those resting are non-plus 'd ...

Is no one noticing the repercussions of firing the "six million dollar" man from hydro and how we will actually be paying more?

I've seen it reported in both the Globe and CBC so it's been noticed. Frankly, it's exactly what I expected: Firing an exec at that level almost never saves money in real terms. From the moment Ford started going after Hydro, I knew it wouldn't come out the way he presented.

Listened to an electrical engineer who said the issue is always when politicians meddle in stuff they don’t understand

It’s how we got to this point

He said people think because they can turn on a light, they understand electricity

Thing is, this is all about business. It has nothing to do with how a grid is run, and everything to do with how corporations are run. And Ford is supposed to be a businessman (though his track record is, as I understand it, a bit shaky).

I've heard a few viewpoints that state that $6 million is average for someone that is in a similar position such as the CEO of Hydro One was in....anyone hear that or if that's true?

Yes. It was an appropriate salary

But with the entire hydro file out of control you knew someone was going to take a hit. Of course Wynne took the biggest hit

The hydro file is so mismanaged, it really in mind boggling to figure out if there is any way out

Thank you McGuinty and Wynne

Probably would have been better to leave what was in place in order to reap the benefits at a later date. In fact I thought I read in the financial post that cost would steadily have declined over the next 15 years had we stayed the course.

Yep. And if we want competent, experienced leadership in our crown corporations, we have to be prepared to pay competitive compensation packages. That's why he had stock options and such. Who's going to work for Hydro One if a private utility company somewhere else is offering more money, stock options, and better benefits? Sure, you may get the odd exec willing to do it for the public good, but are they going to be the best of the best, or the ones who aren't getting the top jobs in the first place?
