Our biggest mistake was believing that God created a world without tails.

"Where there is heads, there must be tails," said God, and thereby negated Himself. ;)

Douglas Adams said:
The Babel fish is small, yellow, leechlike, and probably the oddest thing in the Universe. It feeds on brainwave energy received not from its own carrier but from those around it. It absorbs all unconscious mental frequencies from this brainwave energy to nourish itself with. It then excretes into the mind of its carrier a telepathic matrix formed by combining the conscious thought frequencies with nerve signals picked up from the speech centers of the brain which has supplied them. The practical upshot of all this is that if you stick a Babel fish in your ear you can instantly understand anything said to you in any form of language. The speech patterns you actually hear decode the brainwave matrix which has been fed into your mind by your Babel fish.
Now it is such a bizarrely improbable coincidence that anything so mind-bogglingly useful could have evolved purely by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see it as a final and clinching proof of the NON-existence of God.
The argument goes like this:
`I refuse to prove that I exist,' says God, `for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing.'
`But,' says Man, `The Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED.'
`Oh dear,' says God, `I hadn't thought of that,' and promptly disappears in a puff of logic.
`Oh, that was easy,' says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed on the next zebra crossing.
Most leading theologians claim that this argument is a load of dingo's kidneys, but that didn't stop Oolon Colluphid making a small fortune when he used it as the central theme of his best-selling book, "Well, That about Wraps It Up for God."
Meanwhile, the poor Babel fish, by effectively removing all barriers to communication between different races and cultures, has caused more and bloodier wars than anything else in the history of creation.

Hi chansen: We don't need the legendary "Babel fish." Cellphones are doing that. There already are apps for translating some languages, and soon there will be apps for translating text and speech from any language into any other language. Quite handy (that's why they call them "handy") in the European Parliament, where there are about 40 official languages, and the only one who can possibly be multilingual enough to understand them all is the indispensable cellphone.

Will this lead to world peace?

Well, the European Union is the best guarantee we've had so for peace within the Union. The EU is so economically, socially, and culturally interdependent and intertwined, and united in and by purpose, that there can not possibly be any war between members of the Union. If the whole planet were similarly united, then there could be world peace.

And the little cell phone made it all possible.

Does this prove the existence of God?

Well, the cellphone and related technologies are human creations. If creativeness is God, then this proves the existence of God.

God works in mysterious ways, eh?;)

Stay tuned.

I thnk adding a second, small moon for the earth would produce a variety of interesting effects. The failure of a few to have fun with the concept is sad evidence of how religion can be harmful if not taken with moderation.

Your Quote You're really over-thinking this. It's just a joke, unsafe.

Not according to the Bible -----it may be funny to you but not to God ------And God Matters as you will go before Him in the end accroding to scripture ------

Galatians 6:7Amplified Bible (AMP)

7 Do not be deceivedand deludedand misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked[a]by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, thatand[b]that only is what he will reap.

Where do your g_d's feelings and thoughts and ideas come from and who has sole responsibility for them?

Are you saying that he doesn't take responsibility for them?

Where do your feelings and thoughts come from and who alone bears responsibility for them?

The way you word your response to chansen makes it sound like god matters but chansen doesn't. You can correct me if I am wrong unsafe. So just to try to understand what you are trying to say here is it is god who matters most to you. As for god having a sense of humour well come on the guy is hilarious I mean just listen to the past and present mouthpieces he uses.;):whistle:

I chuckled at the comment above about tails. Humans may have had them but they dropped off?!

When I was a kid my Nana used to laughingly threaten to cut my tail off if I didn't stop being a pest. Needless to say I giggled back that I didn't HAVE a tail. She, quick as a flash responded "Just goes to show that you have been a pest before!"

Now I'm being flooded with memories of my lovely Nana who died of cancer when I was twelve.

How would God spice things up?

By introducing uncertainty into the cosmic equation, making us into the creators of our reality, and making us limitlessly creative.

Never-ending splendour, eh?:)

Or squalor--if we so choose.

THE SECOND COMING

When humankind was desperate and forlorn,
A server and preserve then was born,
A saviour, compassionate and kind,
To heal--and liberate--the human mind.

He was The Chosen One, so we have heard.
The Chosen One? What hides behind that word?
And who has chosen Him? We need to know!
How did He come about? Where did He go?

We humans, though God's mighty voice
Did we recieve the godly gift of choice.
The gift of choice, when we become its user,
Will make us into chosen and the chooser.

-Hermann
