TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

This has struck me as a strange story from the get-go, and that article just makes it seem much stranger. I was sorta bemused by how quickly Mr. Skripal recovered after daughter's phone conversation with her cousin was bruited about in the media.

Britain is a collapsed empire. It needs to rebuild itself. This can be done only by tagging along with the U.S - which is, itself, an empire in decline. (Though Trump and his cabinet seem to be split on how to do this.)Those who wanted a war - almost certainly nuclear - are the ones who made up this story about an attack on a Russian spy in Britain.

This is interesting. Next week The bookstores will be busy... (move out of the way lobster-people...a new book is going to be flying off the shelves)

Comey book likens Trump to mafia boss 'untethered to truth'

Free wiles is the ideal ... an -ism or other sort in the -ology field ... as greatest there is this preconception that there is no other!

Monotheistic ally trampling the support system in a heavy role ... word that shouldn't be read into the population ... by roué! Thus we rue the Dei ...

@crazyheart beat me to it. I have a gut feeling this is Iraq war all over again. Chemical weapons were used but we really only have the say so of a US ally involved in the attack (France) as to the origin and provenance. Russia has already threatened to intercept the missiles and attack the launchers so this is a very, very dangerous move to be taking on such slender evidence. I hope Trudeau stays back and doesn't endorse this action or involve us but he's as prone to kissing American ass as any Conservative so I won't be shocked to wake up to find we are providing material support or something. The fact is, the Americans created this mess and the best solution now might be for them to get the hell out of the Middle East and let the region so itself out.

I have been saying that for much of my adult life but too many people still seem to think they/we can make a positive difference in the Middle East in spite of all the evidence to the contrary.

As usual, my brother from another mother, lol.

The colonialist impulse to think they can 'fix' is overwhelming. I don't see that so much from the East. Russia has the puffed up man. The East is largely, WTF are our Dollarama bucks?

f*** the Liberals and the horse they rode in on.

A perfect opportunity for Canada to take a neutral position and call for a full international investigation by countries not directly involved in the situation (China, for one, would likely have the technology and isn't allied with any of the parties involved). Instead we toe the line.

Trudeau states support for U.S.-led strikes in Syria

'It is clear to Canada that chemical weapons were used and that they were used by the Assad regime'

Lee Berthiaume · The Canadian Press · Posted: Apr 13, 2018 9:36 PM ET | Last Updated: an hour ago

"Canada condemns in the strongest possible terms the use of chemical weapons in last week's attack in eastern Ghouta, Syria," Trudeau said in a statement issued from Lima, Peru, where he is attending the Summit of the Americas.

"Canada supports the decision by the United States, the United Kingdom, and France to take action to degrade the Assad regime's ability to launch chemical weapons attacks against its own people," the statement read.

"We will continue to work with our international partners to further investigate the use of chemical weapons in Syria. Those responsible must be brought to justice."

Trudeau has previously ruled out any Canadian participation in military action.

Earlier Friday, Canada became the latest country to lay the blame for a deadly chemical-weapons attack in Syria last week at Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's doorstep, despite Russian suggestions to the contrary.

But, wait...isn't Assad a tyrant and didn't Assad start all this years ago, using chemical weapons on his own citizens? I remember years ago, Syrians begging for intervention. And didn't Obama try the same thing as Trump...but later decided to arm rebels, which became a horrific clustrfk that caused a mass exodus of refugees that nobody seems to have the capacity to handle, which has given rise to fear and racism-turned-white-nationalism-excuses, and unprecedented numbers of displaced, unwanted, people with nowhere to go?

I don't think this is a Trump plan/ decision, as much as it's a General Mattis decision. The war in Syria needs to end. It's not going to end by asking nicely...so what are the options?

After the catastrophe that was created they can't just abandon the Syrian people to their own devices. It's a bit late. And Putin's not a good guy, and Assad's not a good guy. Why does Putin side with him anyway?

If there is a scheme or plot to divert attention from scandals .. is that a conspiracy gone missing ... just to prove there is something isn't there?

Tis nothing some say ... others an opposing mental process ... negative thoughts as subtle? With enough underground stuff could one construct something from the negatives? Mind you someone would put that down ... rendered useless ... and thus the silence of our friend ... falls under the don't speak of it ruse ...

And some tell me life isn't ridiculous ... a covenanted miss understanding ... a lesser broad? Little Women ...
