Check out lifelines @BetteTheRed , especially if you plan to do lace work. The can be a lifesaver. I like the 9" circular needles a lot. I am part of a FB group for 9" circs and can probably add you if you're interested. Some people also use little stitch markers that you can attach to the right side of your work so you can keep track. This style: Deep Red Heart Crochet Markers

There are all kinds of tricks to make knitting go smoother.

I've never really broken Bones ... my supporting friends ... so I haven't had to knot to support the narrative ...

It just flaps in the breeze ... Tunguit?

Working on being less judgemental this Lent. I know Lent is not about self-improvement, but the judgemental part of me is really interfering with how I interact with others. It won't be a quick fix...

Real & lasting change is rarely "quick" - hang in there & when you feel like you fall short of your own expectations, be grateful you will have lots more opportunities to practice! :)

So in a burst of energy yesterday (I've been a bit under the weather with GI issues) I hung up art in my bedroom. After having moved in 7 years ago. Typical me, taking care of the ret of the house first. I realize I do that, putting myself last.
Anyhow climbing up on a chair to hammer nails I looked at the curtains and threw them all in the washer/dryer. Just need rehung now and a layer of dust is gone.

It seems that my life goes from crisis to crisis lately.

My sister and BIL were in Mesa for a month til the end of Feb.

from Manitoba. They drove. She hadn't been feeling well and a week ago

she got really sick. BIL took her to clinic and they called an ambulance

and took her to big hospital facility. They drained fluid and a week later

medivaced her back to Canada. BIL also., It landed in Wpg and a ground ambulance took her

to Boundary Trails a specialty hospital nera home. Last night BIL drove her to home hospital. 3 hospitals

in 2 days. she is not being monitored but has a port. Still don't know what caused it but hopefully find out today.

(ps I am coughing).damn cold I thought it was over. enough whining.

aaah, crazyheart. so sorry to hear about your sister. How stressful for your bil. Are you able to connect with her at all?
(I'm leaving for a week in Tofino on Friday, meeting up with my sister in Vancouver as we both fly in from different airports. I know how I would feel if your story was she & I. Do take care of yourself. Gentle hugs.

In the news area, I spent my late childhood and teen years living in a house which was on the hill of the Grand River Valley. Our side was shorter, so we felt close to the Grand River. It was a good little toboggan hill to the tracks, and if you worked really hard, you could get over that hump, and down to highway 24 which seperated us from the Grand.
I have loved the grand river, watching it in its spring runoff times, and living through the "great flood" with all the excitement, and concern as people were rescued.
Today, the highway is closed due to flooding which deposited massive ice jams on the road.
In addition, the city of brantford has a section being evacuated due to flooding concerns.

Headed out to Five Oaks to see how high it is there this afternoon.

Love this river and how it shows us its power.

As mentioned in Last Post, we've had some major arteries in London closed due to flooding. Water is powerful stuff. Got a whole sermon out of that theme once.

Crazyheart, sorry to hear of the troubles happening to family members. Hope the issues are resolved soon.

Rain here, too, but not as severe (yet) as other places.

Sorry to hear of your sister's health issue crazyheart. I'm grateful for travel health insurance that facilitates rapid return home for everyone. Hope recovery continues & you can have some good phone chats with her.

And hoping that nasty cough of yours relents soon ... it's one that tends to hang around, at least that's what I'm hearing from friends here who have the misfortune to make its acquaintance.

Pinga I was thinking your trip must be upcoming! It will be a wonderful retreat I think - good sister time :-) Safe travels.

As a treat, my mom bought our family a nice box of chicken last night from Ppys. I'm currently enjoying the last piece.
