The Wonderbus is heading west

There's getting to be too many young guys with great bodies on this bus - all sitting next to not so young women with not so great bodies......... Time for some intellectual company - David Suzuki, Marcus Borg and Leonard Cohen will meet the bus at Kamloops. (Leonard is sitting next to me).

Pilgrim, you guys just haven't gotten far enough West yet :) Some of us are younger than others!

lol Some of you may be the same age as some of my relatives, but they certainly do not have conversations like this in front of me!

Heading north towards Muskota area. Lakes and rivers. Towns and villages. Tourist country. Not far enough north or west for the Mad Trapper. More Grey Wolf country.

How about some music? And let us know if we have to swing off the main highway to pick somebody up.

Well, in that case, I'm asking Carl Safina and I want him sitting next to me so we can discuss the ocean.

Could somebody post the Stan Rogers song about the Northwest Passage? It starts "One more time, I will take the northwest passage, and find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort sea ..."

With pleasure, Seeler. One of my favorite songs and one of the texts for a sermon I did on exploration.

A fan video for the original recording:

And a bonus performance - Great Big Sea joined by Alan Doyle's brother Bernie on a performance of the song:

I dunno - the roofer and I were trying to catch up on some much needed sleep after a rather strenuous workout - when Mendalla opened the bus door and on jumped these musicians with drums, guitars, microphones -what a bloody racket!!!! (Crazyheart, you know how I must get my sleep!)
Great Big Sea - more like Great Big Tsunami stranded on a whaling boat singing sailing ditties.........

I'll have to find some better music.......

Now, if you can't sing the chorus of this absolutely beautiful song by the time the bus gets to Kamloops - then I'm sorry, but you'll just have to leave the trip.

Thanks Mandella. We'll definitely have to pick up The Great Big Sea. Too bad we can't have Stan Rogers join us as well (I prefer his version). Unfortunately he was killed in a firy plane crash at the height of his career. Maybe he'll be with us in spirit.
