Dress looks great - it helps that you don't seem to have spare tyres and excess ballast around the butt.

Have you thought of getting people to pay you to knit things for them? My mother used to make a bit of 'pin money' that way back in my childhood. I think she charged by the ounce of yarn - the cost went up with the complexity of the pattern. She thrived on complicated and found plain, ordinary knitting a bit of a bore. It got easier to bear when we got a tv - until then she struggled to balance a library book without interfering with the needles. .

No spare tires or excess ballast :)
I've thought about it, but am not sure if I'm at that stage yet - still learning and experimenting. :)

Sweater isn't finished yet...got too tired to keep knitting - maybe tomorrow. Unlike the dress, I won't be done when i finish the knitting as I'll still have to sew it together.

ad fact ori um ...

war in nit out ... or warrens of cloes ... perhaps wrong string for pseudo forms of cover?

Did you know Cloe was a character of myth ... story of the past ... not for those completely into presence ...

I've known local people to knit for sale at the farmers' market, at craft shows, at locally owned corner stores. Usually it's practical items - like men's wool socks, toques and/or scarves, dish cloths, mittens. I think for fancy items (like this beautiful dress) they would do by order. It haas to be a labour of love though - hours and hours of skilled work for a small profit margin.

Good morning, all, happy Sontag.

Tag along with de son ... be son dead out? Athought disposed ... denied and eliminated in an emotional realm of spirited actives ...

Then it went as said afore ... myth? Thoughts are suspected to be unreal ... complex?

The Moderators griped about the style in which @Luce NDs and I were posting back and forth to each other. However, I notice that since I've now stopped using that particular style, the Moderators have stopped their griping, and Luce is free to continue using that style. Why the double standard?

In any event, I'm last.

LAST, as I contemplate why some people aren't happy unless they're bitching or moaning about summat.

We're having a Conversations that Matter after church today featuring the Genderbread model.

It wasn't the style itself, it was you two going back and forth in that style in a thread where it wasn't welcome. There was a topic being discussed in that thread and you two were disrupting it. @revsdd made it clear that you were welcome to start a thread where you could continue that conversation.

For those who care to see for themselves, here is a link to Steven's mod warning:

@Luce NDs is allowed to post in that style wherever he so chooses. Since that's the case, the only fair and equal thing is to allow us all to do same.

Sitting here listening to CKUA music to ease into the morning. I'm drinking a good cup of coffee while I read WC2 posts and have a purring cat on my lap. Said cat will be displaced for a knitting project soon. It's too early in the morning for w(h)ine

Good morning! Couldn't sleep LAST night so was doing some sorting and found the pattern for the hair snood I'd started ages and ages ago - should be able to finish it too. :)

Good morning everyone! There's nothing like a purring cat in one's lap.

Anyone else ever have the sense the family dog is attempting to imitate the cat's purring?

Our last dog seemed to try to purr. She had a distinct happy sound, especially when she was getting her ears rubbed or similar loving.
